Lemme see if I understood this correctly, and do correct me if I misunderstood something.
Changed the game into episodic format. As of now Ep1 is 'finished'.
Episode 2 may or may NOT happen, as it needs to sell well on Steam. If it doesnt, we wont get Episode 2. Either way, our dear developer will start making other games (sandbox crap on top of that).
Did I get anything wrong? See I'm asking, instead of just jumping to conclusion and being upset or happy about something I'm not fully understanding.
IF I got it right, that any continuation of THIS 'game' will only happen if there's success on Steam.
Meaning, if it doesnt sell well, we won't ever, or at least for some time, see any sort of continuation of THIS game?
So everyone that played this game up til now, may or may not have spent/wasted time on a 'story' that possibly wont ever be continued and finished? :unsure:

Again, just asking here, trying to understand where THIS VN is heading.
As I'm not even gonna bother with this update, if this is LIKELY to be the very last update of a game that has a very slim chance of ever getting any continuation. Hence me asking :)

Whatever path the dev decides to go down, it's all good. You do you, as they say :)
Personally I dont particularly care, other than knowing the future of THIS 'game'.

I know, it's very confusing, I'll try to fix it now.

So, we can put aside the steam issue, it was a hypothesis that I would like to explore further, but the continuation of the project does NOT depend on the success or failure of the steam version.

What I would like to do is try other types of graphics and style for my games, since the AI has progressed a lot in the meantime and I would like to do many different things from Return to Roots, maybe small experimental games to try new things! Parodies too, why not?

For return to roots I decided not to rush an ending that I wouldn't feel adequate, and to make this game a "premise" to what will be chapter 2, a sandbox game (without artificial length or frustrating minigames, I swear) in which we can decide what to make our Monica wear, what poses to make her do etc BUT with a progressive increase in possibilities based on our progress in the game. I believe that this, if done well and not diluted, is the only way to create hype during the various scenes. No blue balls intended here, just progression and conquest.

The problem with the kinetic novel is that you have everything right away, the game seems less content-wise valid even than games that have even LESS content.

Let me be clear that now I'm talking about ideas, but this is my current brainstorm. Thanks for your attention.

The main issue with episode 1 is that people think there is not so much content, because you don't have to walk and progress through minutes or hours of nothing. I want to make an episode 2 who have the balance between content and gameplay progression

I find this to be a shame. It's difficult to find VN's as is, let alone good ones like yours.

Are the extra images just standalone images or are they part of the game and have to be extracted into the game or images folder? :unsure:
