As tends to happen a lot with porn games, for one reason or another, many of them never get finished. I've seen many of my favorite games go dark and never end up with a conclusion, and that always feels like crap when it happens. So, I really would prefer this project not to end like that. And I'll do all that I can (within reason) so that it doesn't.
A few people have sent me DMs asking what will happen in the event the Unity game stops being worked on, and (as I often do) I figured I would share my plans out in the open. So read-on if you want to know what happens if A Way Back Home is abandoned.
First, I want to be clear that I do NOT think this is currently the case. Ferdafs has always been not great at communicating, and recently has been even worse at it. From unkept promises to total silence it has been a bumpy road, but that is nothing new. Lack of communication is one of my biggest annoyances with devs in general. So, while, two months of silence sucks, it isn't unexpected either.
(Side note: It is especially frustrating for me not to know when things are coming. I often turn down other (paying) projects in the time I expect updates to arrive, and have twice now turned away (paid) work so I'd have time to work on this game, only to have the update delayed a month and arrive in the middle of another project)
F95zone tends not to list games as abandoned until no one has heard from the dev in 6 months. So, if we reach that point, then I'll start to panic. Otherwise, I would just constantly be worked up over something I can't control.
But, if it does happen, I do have a plan. As I have said time and again, when the Unity game ends, so will my work on this game, although, not immediately. I will (do my best) to put an ending onto this game, so that it isn't left in limbo. But, tempter your expectations.
The way I would like to do it is in 3 phases: Conclusion, Pregnancy, and Additional. Here is a break down of each
Phase 1: Conclusion
The primary thing to wrap up is the main story itself. This will be Morty reaching his goal, and at least 1 additional scene with Summer, wrapping up Ethan. Yes, I know there are WAY more things beyond that, but most characters are in a passable spot that they don't need whole scenes to complete their story. And again, this is a wrap up, not an add lots more game. Anything that really needs more work will be part of the phase 3 additional content.
Phase 2: Pregnancy
If we haven't gotten Pregnancy in the main game yet, this is when I plan to add it. Yes, I know, after the conclusion instead of part of it. But I expect this to be complex. Once I know the complete game, judging where it enters is much easier.
Phase 3: Additional
This is for anything else I think the game needs and most likely will be several releases, possibly on going as long as I feel like adding new things into the game. I can't say what this content is, because I don't know. But it won't be monthly updates.
Again, I want to stress that I don't think the Unity game has reached it's end yet (at least (as always) I really hope not), but also, I want to be as open as I can about what my plans/intentions are with this project.

If i may, when you mean wrapping up Ethan, you mean Summer finally ditching him and starting full on relationship with Morty?
And do Pregnancy means we see Summer and Beth with full on pregnant bellies or them just mentioning being pregnant?

No spoilers on story, sorry. You'll just have to wait and see.
A lot of what gets added in phase 2 is going to be based on how well I think I can do it, and the time required to make it happen (and if I want to devote that time or not). At minimum, there will be confirmation scenes for each of the main girls and I also want to try for an epilogue (which would be the prime spot for bellies (or not if people didn't go for pregnancy)). As to specific scenes, or scene enhancements, that is too far off for me to know just yet.
If i may also give couple of suggestions, i remember hearing how your idea for an ending was Morty escaping from the dimension, that the game takes place in, to another one (with it being questioned "The End Or Is It?"). Considering how there will be an oprion to impregnate several girls (including Summer and Beth), can i propose to include an option to stay in current dimension and basically remain in these happy relationships?
Another one, to avoid question regarding financial troubles in raising Morty's children, can i suggest give Morty an access to riches and large amounts of money?

You half remembered it correctly. What I've said is that the game can really only have two (broad strokes) endings: Morty leaves or he stays. Anything that happens is just a variation on one of those (such as him dying would be Morty technically leaving).
I've also said, that both options will be included (although, I'm hoping Ferdafs provides at least one of those, and I'll make whichever one is missing, but we'll see). Additionally, the final choice will be up to the player in that moment (much like the Choice scene with Morty and Morticia (although without the silly meta scene)) and not based on past choices. So if the player chose to go home previously, the can choose to stay in that scene (or vica-versa).
Morty has an infinite credit card... so? Although, it would be funny to have Rick cut it in half and tell him to get a job...

This part is too far off an too specific for me to spend much thought on just yet.

Yeah, okay, as I've said I'm not an artist and case in point are the arms (no, not the ones in the spoiler above) in this short are just his standing model arms slapped into this scene. The have the original length, which is fine next to his body, but come off a bit elongated in this perspective. I'll give them another try.

Okay, I looked at the original art (it has long arms too (not as crazy as the loop)) but the first image of Morty in the short is from the art, so it's just that arm bent but not perspective shifted. Unfortunately, this shot is sort of a mess with the way I handled all the extras in it (and there is a lot of extras, the original is just three poses, Beth only, Morty (with condom), Morty standing closer (with condom)) everything else I added. It isn't the way I make edits now (usually redrawing them instead of jigsawing parts into them) and the only way to "fix" it would be to redo the shot. I'll put it on the fix list, but it isn't a priority.

It sounds like you should stop turning away these paid works unless you don't like them.
One of the best nsfw games I have played. I just can not play it on android because whenever I try to open the game it will crash when I get to the main menu

I'm glad you are enjoying the game. Unfortunately, while I publish an android version (because players have asked for it, and it's only a few extra minutes to make), I am no longer spending time trying to troubleshoot issues for. The vast majority of issues are with the Android Op system and the Renpy engine, neither of which I can do anything about.
Thanks for all your hard work NightMirror, love this game.
