The shit people get bothered with...
I'm not bothered, I swear, that's just an suspicion of mine. Pay attention in every sex scene, ALWAYS the female character is talking about the protagonist's precum. I never saw someone give a single fuck about anyone's precum in my entire life. Like, the dev's obsession about that won't gonna change my view on this game, but I just got really curious.

As crazy as it seems, women will tell you if your dick frightens them or if they want to pump you up. It's not as uncommon as you think.

It's the male equivalent of a 'wet pussy', it's not a big deal.

Seriously, what's with you and pre-cum?

In EVERY sex scene on this game, the female character is talking about Morty's precum. Is that some kind of fetish of yours or something? That's not a thing among girls, I think... Looks like Harem Hotel with it's dev's ratio about the food the MC eats.

Anyways, cool game/remake.
I think somebody's uncircumcised, lol

FYI, all the dialog is stored as plain text (in \game\scripts\story). You could search and replace "that word" if it really bugs you.

I've been editing my own custom version of the dialog that addresses my own linguistic pet peeves and also doubles down on some of the...er...preferences that I enjoy. I'm sure it's not the only game that allows this, but it's certainly the first one I've ever played that wasn't totally locked down/encrypted content.

Ha, I'll be honest I didn't even notice/really consider it. It's tricky to remember all of what aspects have come from which version. So, I'm not sure if I added more of it, or if it's throughout the original. It wasn't something that either bothered me or grabbed my attention.

I did a quick search on all the lines where it occurs in the game (80 times fyi (81, if you include the one misspelling with a hyphen)), and most of the lines feel like Ferdafs dialog, so I think it originated mostly in the Unity version? I'm sure I slipped a few in too (that's what she said), as I'm trying to match/imitate some aspects of the dialog style.

Specifically a fetish for me? Not really.

Question for you, Mr. NightMirror, sir:

You've described yourself as more technically-oriented (programmer) than artistically-oriented (although you'd done it when you had to) so I'm curious as to your evaulation of the technical demands of voice generation.

One of the holy grails of game creation is synthetic voices, so you can add voice acting to your game without the expense of voice actors (or worrying about their availability, or dying, or getting canceled, etc). There's been a lot of projects in that area, but now it seems like the focus is on training voices rather than simulating the mechanics of speech.

I don't know if I'm allowed to use links? Guess I'll try, but here's one example I found Googling:

Imagine the workload of trying to go back through the body of Rick and Morty episodes to extract out usable audio bites attempt to narrate the game. Basically an impossible level of work; you'd have an easier time filling an assertiveness tracker. Not to mention, it would balloon the distribution size of the game massively.

But what if you could, as a one-time process, train a fairly-decent Sarah Chalke voice pattern and then distribute it as a separate module that would read in the dialog text, run it through TTS, and output sound files locally to the apropriate location? With that kind of system, it might be possible to have a passably narrated game. Obviously not perfect, but if it works reasonably well, you could over time improve it by inserting hidden pronounciation text that spells difficult words phoenetically.

Would people want this? I would, no idea how others feel. But if you look at most of the animated content creators on YouTube (particular the 3D ones) almost all of them are using TTS to avoid having to make everything silent films. I've watched enough TTS-narrated games or animations that I don't find it off-putting or "uncanny valley" and it does add something extra to the immersion. It also gives you a break from reading so aggressively that you can't appreciate the animations or subtle blink-and-you-miss it details.

Anyway, I have no technical knowledge at all, so I can't evaluate whether such an idea is practical or even suggestable. There's probably forums dedicated to gamemaking that have a lot more knowledge or insight.

Still, googling around I found a clip of Sarah Chalke asking someone if they were ready for a blowjob and my mind instantly thought of your game since I've been playing it so much lately XD
im not gonna lie, id do voice acting for free for this game

(also, if there was a sound component to this game i don't think anyone would expect every single line, just a few lines/or scenes being spoken out loud would be fun)

While I'm not ready to go down the voice path just yet (for many of the reasons listed above (also, holy crap, I still have so much work to finish up for r3.6, not even considering the actual content integration once the Unity version releases)). I may still give the audio queue thing a try. This would be a few choice words used to better represent a character while they speak (like Navi's "Hey, listen" (but hopefully way less annoying...)). This also has the benefit of requiring both, less time from voice actors, and not needing multiple callbacks for new updates.

If you are serious about perusing this, what character(s) do you think your voice could work for? While it doesn't need to be 100% on the mark (obviously), it would need to be close-ish. If you feel comfortable enough, you're welcome to send me a sample (either via PM, or in this thread, as an audio file of any type) of a character you think you fit well. Just choose a line or two of dialog for the character and give it a read as a sample, not to actually be used in the game yet.

Again, no pressure to actually do this. I would treat this the same was as other contributions players have submitted for the game. Which would mean I have final say over what does/doesn't get used in game.

And if you would prefer full control, moding is always an option (although, for the moment I'd say hold off on any mods until after r3.6 as it is a very major codebase change).

Hello, i keep getting an error on Android when the characters whisper. It says invalid literal for int() with base 10 {(whisper_size)}
Try going to preferences, and switch whisper text from size to indicator (and back) that should reinitialize the variable.

A suggestion I would have, if you go the route of occasional voice cues, is to try to start with dialog components where you can get at least three different samples and then randomly select from them. The worst part of games that use limited sounds is that they get repetitive really fast.

I think in particular, the best starting point would be Morty screams. Those are just awful to try to express in text, no matter how good you are at onomatopoeias. There's just something unique about Justin Roiland's warble that doesn't come out in "AHHH~!". And God knows, there's more than enough Morty distress sounds in the cartoon series that you could find at least three or four good ones.

I'm thinking in particular when he's running from Tricia and screaming through the halls that would be a great time to introduce a nice long scream of anguish to really sell the scene.

Also it might be a pretty funny metajoke to use voice clips of Mabel Pines for Morticia.

I'm not going to use audio from the show, that is just inviting trouble.

Fair enough. But I think there's a non-zero chance that Dan and Justin already know about your game, or certainly the Ferdafs one. Those two are extremely Internet saavy. If DMCA takedowns were coming, they likely would have already happened. As long as something doesn't make the six o'clock evening news and bring bad publicity, I'm pretty sure cartoon creators have learned to avoid the Streisand effect with porn parodies and just pretend they doesn't exist.

Still, I'll keep rooting for magical breakthroughs in TTS voice creation technology.

It is less about knowing, and more about what aspects of media are more heavily scrutinized. Parody artwork is largely overlooked. Music and sound on the other hand is usually viscously attacked (look no further than the amount of shenanigans that happen on the utubes for just a few seconds of audio). Could I probably do it and be fine? Eh, maybe? But this one is simply something I'd prefer to avoid.

User created mods are always an option for this, but reused music and audio from me is a big nope.

Is there any chance you could find some royalty-free background music and put it on the main menu, and at least one royalty-free sound effect (e.g. ) somewhere maybe in the intro dialog events?

It would be helpful to know the syntax for audio music/effects so people could copycat on their own edits or mods, plus you can "plan ahead" where you would like these files to eventually be stored and people could be sure to path their mods properly.

I have talked about adding music a couple times (here is one of the posts that came up in a quick thread search). But the very short version is: adding music is a massive undertaking, and I think most porn games that have music/sound, do it very poorly. Also, again, more file size for something I think most players will only use once/twice/not at all, just isn't worth it.

I don't really like music in porn games, so I pretty much always turn it off (hell, I turn music off in a lot of non porn games too, it's hard to make good music people want to list to for long periods). There are lots of things I'd like to do for this game, but sadly, music just isn't one of them. I don't have a passion for it, which means I can't give it the attention it would really need to be "good" (or even passible).

So, for the foreseeable future, that is a no to music. It is (and has been) on the request list, so it isn't by any means forgotten, just not a priority for me.

Content question:

What prompted having the first Unity event (beginning at Rick Task 2) on Day 6? This creates two incongruities with the plot:

Rick turns himself into a pickle on Day 6 to avoid having to go with Morty. But then on Day 7 (Tricia walking you home), Rick makes the amazing discovery of his pickle serum to avoid having to do a different errand. It seems like the Unity event should happen logically after Day 7, so that it becomes a callback and a running gag about how Rick avoids accompanying the main character.

Also, in the car ride to Unity's planet on Day 6 (Car Stress Relief) it shows a montage of pictures from Morty's phone but includes a selfie from Tricia that he doesn't receive until the end of Day 7 (Tricia Messages).

If I had to guess, you have some basic goal of trying to even out the content on the various days so that one day isn't super loaded and others nothing happens. Tricia events are obviously locked to the weekend when they involve church but, I feel like Rick Task 2 and Car Stress Relief would be better after Day 7. I don't have handy catalog of scenes, but I wonder if there is some self-contained Summer/Beth/Morticia event that could be swapped to Day 6 to provide some filler?

Additional corrections:

You here Summer shift around in her bed --> You hear Summer shift around in her bed
hurtle --> hurdle
youreself --> yourself
slut than I thought" --> (needs . or ! before quote mark)
whole thing from the side father --> whole thing from the side, father
a cleaver, creative curse --> a clever, creative curse

Content overload was mostly the main reason (and yeah, I know it has a few logical issues (mainly Tricia's image showing up early)). I've shared it a couple times but here are all the main game events:
1653692166619.png
The issue with moving the event to the next day is mainly that it doesn't fix the issue, since Tricia doesn't send the nude until the very end. So, okay, the block would need to go on day 8 instead, but again, it's already packed with stuff (the only spot really being after Summer's Underwear Blow event?). And it would make day 6 feel fairly empty. Day 9 has too much going on, and it can't go on day 10 as that is the return to Unity.

I haven't really been able to move scenes around before (without wrecking save files) but as this is a full save reset for the next update, it would be the time to do it. I have to review the content and see if the move makes sense.

Fixed.

One thing that might help with arrangement flexibility, there are Christian groups that meet regularly on the Sabbath (Saturday) e.g. 7th Day Adventists. Also, churches do hold gospel meetings which can be on just about any day; very often they run during weekdays and close out the meeting on the weekend.

So, if you tweaked the dialog to mention a gospel meeting, then Tricia events could be moved to either Friday or Saturday. Since Morty lives within walking distance or her church, it's conceivable Morty might pass by and see people there, or Tricia could drop exposition by mentioning her need to attend that day to Jessica.

Speaking of which, there's a line or two where I think you use priest instead of pastor, so should likely all be one or the other for consistency.

I think it would be much more complex to ty an rearrange Tricia's events. While moving it looks ugly in the event blocks, the two events on either side (Rick Task2 and Unity) aren't technically sex events (so no images), which makes moving them less problematic.

Also, didn't know that priest and pastor were different (and I'm not sure Morty would know either), but corrected all the same to pastor, which is apparently the correct term in this case? Those are from the original game and just wasn't something I spent any time on.
