Status Report November 2024:
As we close in on the end of Nov, with still only silence from Ferdafs, it's once again time to give some status (and other stuff) about this project. When is the next update coming out, what I'm working, and "other stuff".

As always, if the only thing you care about is WHEN?! WHEN CAN I HAZ UPDATE PLZ?!!! There are two possible answers. First, if Ferdafs puts out an update before the end of the year, I'll do my best to turn that around as quick as I can, and that will also include Part 7 (of the conclusion). Otherwise, (maybe) early next year? I'm still not 100% sure. If the update "when" is all you care about, you don't have to read any further.

Thank you for what you're doing, dude, at first I was depressed because the new part would have to wait until the middle of winter, but when I found out that you were doing another part, I just cheered up! Does this mean that part 8 may be ready by the time you stop waiting for a release from Ferdafs? If so, it will be just gorgeous, because this date is not far from my birthday :)

NightMirror you are truely our hero here. I know it has been said many times, but thank you for what you are doing. And of course none of this would have happened if it wasn't for Ferdafs, so thanks for him to for what he has given us and will give us in the future. My next drink will be in honor to the both of you.

It would be nice if Ferdafs was more active with his projects. Especially learning more about the story to this project, like why is Morticia so rare? Maybe Female Rick (I named her Ricky) has something to do with it? Like maybe the female Ricks moved the female Morty's to safer universes to protect them? It makes more sense than just saying she's a rare type of Morty.

Well... that one I can (sort of) answer, because making Morticia rare isn't in the original game, it's a story thread introduced in the Renpy version.

In the Unity game, we've only had the one interaction with Collector Morty (offering the Portal gun after saving Morticia form the Creepy Morty: Day 21: Chapter 4: Maid Rescue). However, he shows up a few extra times in the Renpy Remake, specifically in a later scene: Day 37: Chapter 9: Morty's Choice, where he monologues one of the reasons he is after her.

As I've already written the main conclusion (and answering this question isn't part of that (and Ferdafs version doesn't have this plot thread, so he'll never answer it (although, now that I've typed all this up, there might be some wiggle room to slip it in (that's what she said). I'll consider it.)), I feel okay talking about it here.

But, fair warning, you most likely aren't going to like the answer(s).

Personally I don't hate this answer because it's pretty much the same thought process I had as well, infinity is infinity and in the show we do see female Morty's as well as Morty's that are snakes, hammers, and chairs.

In the show, that's why they use the term "Finite Central Curve".
The "Finite Central Curve" is still infinite (despite having the word Finite in it). The show describes it as (roughly quoted): Rick built a "wall" around infinity, separating all the infinite universe where he is the smartest being in those universes, from all the universes where he isn't.

In other words, the Finite Central Curve is a specific set of infinities, still infinite, but with certain conditions on which types universes are included in that infinite set. As long as that set condition is constant, everything else can change.

There are still infinite Mortys of every kind on the Finite Curve (and in the game), the only exception being, none of them can be smarter than Rick (a plot hole in the show, since a Morty literally smarter than Rick brings down the Finite Central Curve (but, I mean, the show is full of contradictions)).

Sorry, could have quoted my post better. What I meant to say is, yes, I agree. Just that these infinities where Morticias are rare (and hence, Morty's and Ricks exist as "Morty's" and "Ricks") are within the "Finite Central Curve". There's nothing to say that there isn't a "Finite Central Curve" where Morticia's are common and Morty's are rare. Etc.

NM,

I recall people here offering you their help, but you declined. Now that you're solo again, is that still the case? If there is any task that could be offloaded, you have so many talented and willing fans of yours that would jump at the chance.

Myself included.

I usually tend to reach out to people offering me specific help in DMs (rather than replying in thread), so as not to take us off topic, spam stuff, or spoilers if we do work on something. Generalized assistance tends not to be something I can really put to use. I can't easily give someone a specific thing to help with, without giving them a lot more stuff around it.

The four main roles I have to fill in this project are: Editor, Artist, Sound, and Tester.

For anyone that read the above and thought, I could do that, here are some final things to consider:
  • This is all unpaided. You're doing it because you enjoy it, not for money.
  • This is a volunteer role, you can stop at any time (just please give me a head up, so many people just vanish without a word and I'm left wondering if they're ever getting back to me, it drives me fucking crazy).
  • I don't like crunch, I think it is fucking toxic, but things also can't wait forever. You'll need to give me approximations on how long you think things will take you to do, and I will be as flexible as possible to make it work.
  • If I haven't worked with you before, it's gonna take time to build up trust. Don't expect that your first task in the game will be working things like the conclusion.
If you're still interest after all that, then send me a DM and we can talk details.

I don't think it's a plot hole necessarily. As long is his original Rick was smarter than Evil Morty, it's ok. He could've been smarter.

Dude are you forgetting Evil Morty?

If you dont get some millionair which has free time for the rest of his life... who is willing to do smth for free?

I mean, that post was in direct response to someone offering to help.

To answer your question, a number of people have volunteered their time to work on this project. From small contributions to big ones.

To be clear, I'm not actively seeking people. It makes the project more fun, easier is some ways, but harder in others. Still, I can (and have been) do(ing) it all myself. People offer their help to me (or often send me unsolicited work), and I work with them for as long as they want to do it.

Sure doing stuff for free isn't for everyone, but it is for some.

Hi NM!
Can you reach out to me through DM? I have some questions regarding music and I can't send you a Dm. I don't want to write the message publicly here.
