Ren'Py - Ring of Lust [v0.5.8a] [Votan]

Utter Pish, the dev should give up while he's behind. This game has no redeeming features.
The renders are below average, as is the language. The story is pathetic.

Even if you get to the end of the current version, the next version will likely add virtually fuck all like the last few versions. AVOID like the plague!

This game is pretty repetitive and grindy, so cheats are a must, but this is a great game with lot's of content and some fun moments. It's very tropey though, nothing really new in terms of pushing the genre of porn games. Mind control, a succubus you can mostly forget about until you need a plot device, step family with a bitchy older sister and sweet younger sister and a big tittied mom, the nice twist on the neighbor family is that they're black, so there's at least some racial diversity here, especially in the reversal of the white-wife-black-lover trope. I like the addition of the other girls, especially the dynamic at the library and the gym, but I hope we see some of the threads pull together. I'd like to see Ashley be brought into have a threesome with the main cast

Grindy, rather uninspired game. A lot of the points other reviews make are valid. The story is non existant and the characters don't, as of v0.2, offer any kind of depth I could enjoy...
Freeroam/sandbox game with repeatable events that I don't want to do once let alone blindly repeat to find the content I've unlocked by skipping every day till I've raised the only stat.
For those that enjoy a difficult wank go for it, the sex scenes aren't horrible but be sure you like this kind of game by reading more reviews though. I'd hate for anyone to be disappointed after ignoring my rant.

Characters are a bland though some interactions, if worked on more, could be quite enjoyable though I can't see this game managing the massive overhaul it would take... Again I'm sure the dev would do good work if they had time to hone his skills more.

Good luck to the devthough, paired with a writer and a redesigned UI (hate freeroam) I might try again, even better with some badge to tell me where the girls are.

TBH I don't know how this game is still being made. There is nothing outstanding in the entire game. The renders, animations, and even the UI are extremely outdated. The models are ok, but nothing to write home about. The UI is a complete mess and should be completely redesigned. Part of the issue is you can't even see the Lust level. No quest log or hint system has ever been implemented since the game's inception. The "animations" like a lot of other VN's I've played are just a loop of a couple of frames. The Engrish and dialogue are still the same mess when I played the game 3 years ago. The only saving grace about the grindy sandbox is a mod that makes it less tedious to get your stats up.

Overall the game should either be completely redesigned or scrapped at this point. Honestly I don't know how it's getting any reviews above 2 stars. It also seems like a lot of the storylines haven't been updated for years.

I find this game pleasant to play, CG aren't crisp but good enough. Updates are relatively frequent and crashes are few (you may experience previous save not working though).
Overall, it's an OK game if you like incest and corruption.

The MC is such a sub that he is telling girls how pretty they are right after they have a go at him for just existing, who would act like that? does the creator not know what anger is?

As for the "magic" that can only influence people into doing what they already wanted to do, we have something like that now its called alcohol and whats with "Give her decent attention, shower her with compliments and then we will succeed" this is called dating not "magic", magic would be getting sex without this.

The choices amount to do what we tell you to or the game ends(without a story) so they are not really "choices" more like guess the right order

After that it becomes an almost endless cycle of compliment a girl, enhance the ring, gain energy, over and over again.

Art is ok at best, the game runs well no errors.

The renders are average at best, the system hasn't always been clean or bug free, it's been mainly an average game but, there's been regular updates, attempts to fix what's broke, now a walkthrough that is kept somewhat up to date so the open world parts aren't just total click and pray.
If there was a 2.5 I'd give it that, mainly I'd say look at the pics. If you like them you'll probably like it, if you don't then playing it probably won't change your opinion.

I'm going to be honest there are better games like this one out there, for sure, with better sex animations and better character models, but this game always delievers when it comes to updates, its consistent and the walkthrough is allways updated when they release new updates which i appreciate.

Also this game AIN'T a visual novel, which means that the player is not gonna go through the story by JUST pressing a single button, and thats where the walkthrough comes in ITS ALLWAYS UPDATED, so there is gameplay, story and porn.

I don't know about the early versions that got poor reviews, but the recent poor reviews don't match my experience at all. I feel like the people complaining about the "grind" didn't notice the button in the bedroom that boosts your lust points. Great renders and always finding something new if I take the time to explore. Admittedly generic setup with the primary partners being the Landlady and roomates ;-) but most of the attention has clearly went into the renders and animations (animations in nearly every encounter!)

I read all the reviews before and tought: it can't be that worse and i wanted to give em a honest fair try. How naive i was! I should have known better.

The story is just "Meh"
The writing style is (with my sweetest tongue said) "unique" (and in this case "unique" is really nothing good )
The used "english" is so horrible - i think even google translator would deliver a better work

If you ever played this crap, you will never ever swear about other games to be too grindy. This one really puts a huge milestone to what a game can deliver on grind.

What a waste of time *SIGH

Every time this game updates I download it. I like the thought behind building your abilities which later helps seduce different characters. There are a lot of ester eggs to be found and this is always rewarding, I have not been disappointed on each of the updates. The reason that I did not give it 5 star is because some of the animations or sex scenes do not have full details. I like the ability revisit sense. Can be a bit of a grind at times but I do not mind because it is more rewarding.

Ever said to your self: what a waste. I do so, especially when badly manufactured products are made from high quality raw material.

This applies to this game. I keep playing it because of the decent renders. Alas, the good rendering skills, which could be honed even more, get crushed under the weight of the slow progression, the not so well thought mechanics, and some bugs, all leading to confusion and to missing many of the good scenes and events despite of going through the overly grinding motion.

The story is classical and timid, but that is only because of the many unexplored potential development venues. Serious r-writing can make great use of the decent raw material including both renders, and idea.

Sorry, but this has been done over and over. Renders are all the same as other games and the language is not even making sense most of the time. Everything is just showing no knowledge of peoples actions and just feels pushed.

i really would have liked to give this game more stars..renders are really nice..the story is b....t but somehow has a nice 'ring' to it..but the endless grinding is a living hell since you don't know what to do or not to do..dev/team must put at least something like a hint button or some table of events..otherwise it becomes a grindfest which you don't know what do to do in order to progress more since everything is in random..

.I really hate to rate this game so low because it has so much potential. The renders are quite well but there is no actual plot. I have attempted to play this game several different ways but in the end the only thing that happens is you end up seeing the same scene over and over and over and over again. Unless the developer takes the time to add more renders and more scenes and give the game an actual plot with consequences for the choices you choose, I recommend you do not waste your time attempting to play it.

A decent game that gets ruined by an unbelievably tedious grind. At one point, I thought the game was completed because nothing was happening. Fortunately, I looked in the game folder and saw that there were many animations that I had not seen yet. More grinding, grinding, grinding... ehhh I think I'll go play something else.

Overall I give this an average rating, but despite the painful painful English translation and awkward writing (I'm assuming mostly due to translation) I still found myself enjoying the game.
True, more grinding than I prefer. But I found myself liking the female characters. And for the most part the renders are above average to very good.
I hope the script and the English improve dramatically, but I know I am looking forward to seeing more of this game.

writing and dialogue are absurd on top of that with broken english. on top of that dev tries to use complicated words like he is shakespeare or somthing when he cant stitch together 2 basic sentences.

Bullshit game, misleading tags, useless grindfest, poor content, barely any content, poor writing, this is a complete waste of time,falls flat on any line of text right from the start, no ammount of future updates can cover this nonsense.

The renders look good, the gameplay is straightforward and the scenes are pretty hot. Only downside is that it takes A LOT OF GRINDING to progress with this game. Even if you'd use unren.bat to max the scores, it still takes a couple of hours to get from one scene to the next.
