VLC updated recently on mobile and that piece of shit can't handle AV1 10bit anymore idk why, it just doesn't play them right, so for AV1 with 10bit just go with MPV. Also avoid mp4 as plague, phones that don't support it are just dogwater to begin with (iphones more specifically lmao), mkv by far is the best option unless you're addicted to apple products for some weird reason :D

I do use ffmpeg I have a whole ass script that automatically converts all the fucking gacha games porn I download to av1, fast-decode=2 overrides it anyway iirc

And fast-decode is not overriding tunes.

yeah right it doesn't play well with tune=0 that's what it was, previously i used x265 but it didn't really work well in some cases, av1 covers it usually. i just really dont want to waste any disk space for all these 10 gigabyte high quality videos, they are still good even after reencoding but take significantly less space

I bet patreons probably kept bitching how they either wanted it back or wanted someone else instead of who he did. Or he wants to do all of them and this is a just who's first
