Before replacing it you need to look in the script version (inside the game folder) if the renpy engine used to make the new version is different.
In that case only replacing the game folder will give you an error because at the launch the game will have a conflict and crash.
As an alternative you can build your own Mac version using the Renpy sdk (as long as you use the same version of the PC one), but this require a bit of knwoledge, nothing insurmountable of course, but is necessary and useful to avoid making mistakes, I often use it for games that do not have a Mac version.

Hold up, since I am new to this forum and how things work. Is the remastered released now at the top of the page, does this include all the other chapters with the remaster?

It's hilarious to see people who don't actually participate in the thread at all suddenly show up because the game showed up on the latest updates page and start bitching about the remaster as if this is some sudden thing that came out of the blue.

My assumption regarding the patch bug:
In my case, Tiffany is spoken of as MC's mother in dialogs so far. In the mobile window, where we see the relationships with each character, she is referred to as a friend. My assumption now is that the patch does not take into account a query or something and therefore does not correct the relationship status there.
So far, nothing that really affects the experience of the plot, but definitely something to possibly keep an eye on if more relationships to other characters should be revealed.
In addition, some of the animations are wooden and seem a bit laggy, which could be due to my notebook, which is getting on a bit.

Yeah, I noticed the Friend status in the phone as well. Hopefully they'll be able to patch the patch soon.
