I get that waiting 36 hours might feel like a long time for some, but the game itself was leaked way before its public release. Compared to that, a short wait for a mod something created for free in someone’s spare time is really not much.
Modders put real effort into making the mod. Some choose to earn a bit of support from it, and that’s fair. Early access is simply a way to appreciate the users who choose to support the modder.
Is between humanity good?

The only real problem I can see is if the code changes for bugfixes before the public release it would require more work on the mod to fix it.

36h "early access...?" Wow, five years playing Ripples and I do believe that's the first modder I can remember ever doing THAT on a Ripples mod. Just FYI, previous modders always had the mod up within a day or two, WITH the patch. Great way to avoid getting new patrons, man. Maybe I'll be able to play by sometime next week.
It is people like you that's forcing Modders to stop because they are inpatient to wait for the time being or are unable to use an alternative like URM but rather complain.

Yeah. Just play a different game until the mod for one is ready. Hell, even just getting a subscription for a particular mod update a few days earlier and then cancelling it afterwards unless there are more mods done by that particular modder is an option.

K, so rather than even attempt to try and answer ALL that -- I'll jsut clarify things a bit. Ain't complaining about the time it takes to *make* the mod. There IS a lot of time and effort involved, and sometime that takes a bit to implement. What I *am* a bit piqued over is the fact that unlike previous modders, this one chooses to hold back the mod after completion. Granted, that's his right. And it's our right to complain about it when it differs from the behavior of previous modders of this game. Longtime players get used to a certain order of things, ya know? I'm much more likely to support a modder who releases mods asap after completion and bugtesting, than one who holds it back for *X* number of days afterward. The games themselves are one thing: that's commonplace, normal, and clearly scheduled, so we either wait for public release or grab it when it gets leaked here.
Mods on the other hand, are most often released once they're done and tested, so the modder can move on to their next mod project. That's how the modders I'm most familiar with generally handle their mods: the hangtime is in the production, not the release schedule. And those are the modders that I generally support when I'm actually able to do so, because they're doing their best to provide a quality product in a timely manner and I appreciate that. So when I do have money to spend on Patreon, those are the modders who get that money.
TL/DR, since this turned into a novel: I respect the time it takes to *develop* the mod and playtest it. Holding back after it's done, THAT is what irritates me, because the few modders I can ever afford to support don't do that -- they don't have time. They post the one that's done and go on to the other 10-15 or so that are still waiting in the pipe. And that's how this game had previously been modded -- mod gets done, mod gets posted, modder goes on to next project. So, yeah, hangtime at this point annoys me. But hey, I'm jsut an old goat, what do I know.

For those just wanting the gallery mod, since I'm still not all that with paying for mods just for some things like that, as opposed to like the $60-70 AAA video game mods, which I do take a little different thought about, there is the _Universal_Gallery_Unlocker_2024-01-24_ZLZK. I dunno, just google it. Gallery mod is a small part of the multi-mods, so I don't see this being anything to whine or complain about for anyone else.

I obviously thoroughly appreciate modders time and efforts, and have subscribed to some including on here. But you cannot afford to subscribe to all to support them. And there is the original community argument, much of which describes LoversLab, though that is turned largely demanding and whiny on any popular game (thus I subscribe to a couple patreon modders for video games).

But to the point, I support modders just putting the damn, "LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, PAY ME!" thing with a link to whatever. As far as the waiting a few days, I guess whatever.I do pay early ONLY for the games, not for the mods since usually the above does good for me, since I just don't have the time unfortunately any more to play through most games except a very select few.
ZLZK also has a universal choice descriptor mod that can act as a walkthrough.

I didn't read this 'cause I've been here long enough to know that it will be more of the same; "I don't understand why all games aren't made just for me and my tastes, and on my time table!! It's sooooo annoying!" etc, etc...
What I did do, though, is go to LightmanP's Patreon, and slapped down the measly 2 bucks and change (tax) it took to subscribe, and then downloaded the mod. Quick, cheap, and best of all, no waiting 36 hours! Amazing!!

A guy uses their free time for the community and will provide it for free after 36 hours. People who are scratching their balls on the sofa waiting for the mod "omg 36 hours is too much".

I understand this is a piracy forum, but c'mon guys, not even 2 days to wait... at least let the guy give some appreciation to the ones who support their effort, it's really that hard?

I'm extremely vocal on these forums against devs/modders who try to milk their patronage, specially to those who make paywall mechanics who are extremely frustrating, but the way people are getting impatient for something that's coming out for free is getting a bit ridiculous...

Ren'Py isn't even that hard to edit, it's simply a matter of effort and spending time. I also like to play the game with incest (because it fits the lore for now) but if you are that impatient to wait then edit yourselves instead of bothering the dev and the modder geez...

Sorry for the vent, but the impatience of some people on these forums is really getting out of hand.

UCD is decidedly NOT a walkthrough. There's no path finding or even planning of future choices. It only shows immediate changes due that that choice in the code. It is also not compatible with all Ren'py games (as I recently found out). Making a walkthrough mod involved reading all the code, seeing the end result of choices and how they affect paths, and putting that information in front of you at each choice. That... is a lot of work. That's nothing compared to the incest patch, which involves editing all the dialogue in the code to match the incest relationships. Appreciate that shit, because nobody could pay me enough to do that.

its called incentive... as in its an incentivizing strategy to get people to back their product.... similar to how games release in scheduled tiers based on how much money is thrown at the dev.... you can hate that strategy all you want... even disagree with it but its proven to be an effective one

think of it like this: you wait 358 days for Christmas every year. 36 hours isn't going to kill you so shut up

Strange. If you would post that in the main game thread you for sure would get the "but this is a pirate site" answer, and someone leaking the game would be called a "hero". But leaking a paywalled mod, god forbid...
