So? A person has no right to say "I don't like it and here is why"? That's why reviews exists and have rates of other numbers but 5.
The game started ok, with great art and not so bad story, but then fell into the same pit as many others - loads and loads of characters added, plus, it have too many words, its like a novel, except it is rather boring. X happen, Y character get introduced, relevant to them part of world is exposed in lengthy text passage, catherine have sex with them.
Other characters are sidelined and forgotten, the storyline drags so long I can't even remember what the story is about, she was student and then general, and some allies against someone, right?
The game started as 5 and now it is 3.
While I do enjoy the game, I also entirely agree. It's a classic case of bloat. Remember at the start of the game how there were kobolds that you could kill or spare and the game pretended that was going to be some kind of big choice?
That's not to say it can't recover, just that as it is, I'd have preferred the game to focus on fleshing out character relationships more, as everyone really feels like pit stops you head to once and then move on. They could really benefit from things like personal quests that are affected by choices you made earlier in the game, or even the chance to really lean into exploring unique kinds of relationships.
Take your teacher as an example, that's a straight up abusive relationship and I was really glad to see you can call her out on it and rub her face in it, however it sucks that you can't ever explore this further since your teacher genuinely does want to make amends and there's no option to actually engage with that without just forgiving her for everything on the spot, which is terrible. We don't need a full 5-star therapy arc, don't get me wrong, that's not what I'm asking for, however I would have liked to see more of a dynamic where you are not the active party needing to go to everyone first, it would be nice if you could be doing things and the other characters would come to find you based on what you are doing and your current relationship with them, be it to help out if you're just friendly, help and then have an intimate encounter if you're more, be an antagonist if you're unfriendly, or in the case of your teacher, to demonstrate that she is trying to make an effort to change and make amends. This kind of thing doesn't even need to change the game's structure, you can just be presented with an event like any other and they can meet you while you're doing it to make it seem like they actually have more active roles in the relationships you are making (it would also be nice if they could come to your house/HQ and ask if you wanted to talk, even just for repeat scenes, since again that would make it feel like they're more active characters rather than road stops).
This game could still be really special in that regard, rather than something I forget about for months at a time before going "oh yeah, I wonder how that's doing".
