You are absolutely right, how is it possible that a game that you download for FREE from a site like this is not perfectly optimized? It is a terrible lack of respect...
Your argument could have been relevant if we were talking about some leaked version (as it happened last summer with the game
Space marine II) but the one we have here is the
official one, released by the dev' himself and not leaked under development.
So yes, it is
indeed a terrible lack of respect (and not only toward us pirates, as I said: the version we're talking about is the same his paying patreons got) to release an untested version of your work while promising a working one two weeks later.

This argument could stand if Oni were able to release scheduled updates but he obviously never heard words like "regular" or "planning". Anyone following his work learns quickly that updates come when they come, take it or leave it and we are used to wait at least four months (if not longer) between updates; two more weeks won't do a difference.
IMO, Oni hates the bug-hunting part of his work and every bug reported by the masochists playing those alpha-version is one less he has to find by himself; it's as simple as that.
