Shift-G opens RenPy's hidden graphics config menu.

I recommend playing with the setting here to see if that improves your performance. It's done wonders for me in many RenPy-based games that I couldn't play on my decade old laptop (i7, 8gb, Intel HD 4000).

Without this, I was seeing exactly what you describe: gradual slowdown between dialogues, slower animations, etc. It would get to the point where the game takes 2-3 seconds to advance dialogue in a scene, even with no animations running or characters on screen.

The other option is to save and restart the app. The restart clears out the slowdown for me. I mention it as a last resort if you can't get the game to play any other way.

But, point is, this seems to be more of a RenPy problem than an Oni problem. It happens across multiple developers, and it's been that way for years now.

Now on launch it's in the 850Mb range peaking to almost 1 GB duing events with lag spikes. It just doesn't feel worth it. If this game was rendering 3D images or animations I'd blame my potato of a PC but with mostly static images this is absurd. Frankly, after Gwen I hope Oni takes some time to polish the code because at this rate it the new girls he adds will eventually slow shit down to the point we'll all need an i9, with 32gb of RAM and a RTX 4070 to run it.

Ive made them with my own preferences in mind, so they may or may not overlap with yours. Regardless, you can always skip what you dont like, as it is a very simple process.

I have NOT made any edits for Kitty as of yet, since i dont find her base figure to be fitting for that type of body.

These edits are not anything crazy; since the game uses "layers" in all sprites, once you deviate from the original body silhouette, you will find yourself having to re-make every single sprite that uses that layer. It dawned on me quite late, as i was already re-making the entirety of Lauras body, but then i realized i would have to make the clothes as well and gave up.
Nonetheless, im leaving a preview of it, so if there is anyone strongwilled enough to see it trough, ask me and i will give you the files so you can finish it (and yes, the boobs are not well done, i know).

Instructions are included in the .rar package.


Edit: Whoops, i just saw the latest version files and surprise surprise, Rogue now has feet and full legs?! I will get to editing those soon, sorry for the delay.
Edit 2: Added edits for Rogues new sprites, she should now be working on the latest version. Place in "images/RogueSprite". Remember to make backups. I will be editing Gwen at a later date.

Hey, just some quick constructive criticism, I noticed that you try to avoid changing the outlines on the girls and stick to changing the shading for that toned effect. It may be better if you make changes to the linework here and there like on some of their arms to make it look mor like biceps than being sickly lol. Also some of their abs look a bit weird if you look for too long, namely jean and rogue... Sorry if this came out as harsh but I want to see this be the best it can be, so keep up the hard work!

I can give that a shot, as I am curious to see how far the girls can go if I delay that "Do you like me" trigger indefinitely, which should be fairly easy if I go full-Wizard. Also, I'm thinking that renaming Zero to Hermione would be very fitting considering the nature of this experiment.

Also, I do have a question for Oni, if one of the patrons could be so kind as to pass this along: Is this a load bearing typo, or has no one noticed this yet because it's well above boob level?

Speaking of, having a shirk ray would be aweome. It would certainly get HR off my back on how I need to do "actual work" in order to "get paid." That and some pew-pew-pew! action in the day would certainly make the work day more fun.

I would say this would qualify as a "Yes", as I remembered (eventually) that part of the wizard route involves knocking on everyone's door at night to make sure no self-serving funny business is going on. Though with 8 girls now it does end up being a full night's work.

Also, have the girls always been able to blink? I swear I've never noticed this before.

Edit: Realized after the fact that a thumbnail would do better for thread tidiness, please pardon my earlier mess.

And yeah, as far as im aware, girls have been able to blink since i started playing this game, you just never stare at their eyes.
BTW, kudos on keeping everyone from doing anything innapropiate!
