sorry to hear that boss, i plan on easing the learning curve a lot more with further updates since it's a common complaint. what about it is luck-based though?
maybe... he fucks the game cause it's a porn game...?

anyway I love hard games, so if it would be possible... please make a really absurdly hard mode that stupidly difficult and sometimes even impossible with bad rng.. (that would be absolutely hilarious and fun)

Interesting stuff.

I wonder if it's a skill issue of mine, I can't reliably do the higher wall jumps, the one where you press the opposite direction. Seems to be a 50/50 whether I manage those.

Since there's an option to lock Athena's title, why not also an option to reset her title? A little cheat to help see other possible titles.

I'm not sure if opening menu with space is supposed to pause the game or?? The catboys freeze in place if they're not mid-lunge. The slimes just continue moving. If you open menu after a slime falls off a platform, it'll continue moving left/right like there's an invisible floor. Not sure about the other mobs.

After the update, it seems like it takes a longer distance before Athena teleports to the player. Tested this on the big forest map. She doesn't tp even when I'm on top of the map and she's at the bottom. Seems like it's specifically an issue with vertical distance. Also mobs don't attack the player if Athena's all the way on the other side of the map. I can stand right next to a mob and they're chill.

dingadocious Crashed the game. Got Athena up to the fracture door in the huge forest level, she was opening a chest when a catboy pinned her. I dashed back and forth while waiting, because I didn't want to use my limited weapons. Accidentally dashed off the platform and fell all the way to the bottom right of the map. So I sat there waiting for Athena because I need her to make these jumps back up. Anyways, cum sound effects, 2 seconds later game crashes.

I got back to that map, made the jumps, and baited that catboy into running off the ledge. Now as shown in the picture below. I threw Athena onto the top platform, she hopped onto the lower platform, then runs left off the platform to chase that catboy down into the monster pit. Athena has her priorities, cock is more important than loot.

How do you even go back to the title screen, to see the new screens? I want to play this game but the controls and some things are frustratingly confusing

What do you mean by new screens? Also you can only go back to title by reopening the game. Press spacebar to open menu, go to options and change keybinds

It keeps saying i have unlocked new title screens, and there is an option to lock them. But when i reset and go back there is nothing there.

And changing keybinds doesn't really help when they make the reset button "R"
It's a little close to any of the keys i would normally bind it too. Which can lead to accidental resets.

Title, not title screen. Open options and check her status. Bottom left corner is title

The reset button is the F1 key for me, that's weird

I tried to play the game, and right after the tutorial there's a blocked passage and a difficult jump. I'm not sure if it's just me or my keyboard or the game. But why is it so difficult? I tried for several minutes, then I deleted the game. Looks cool, but maybe the jump difficulty is not for me.

You have to use the double jump, while in the air throw her down and that will give you the boost you need to make the jump, since the last update you only need to press the jump button twice to do that, making it much easier.

My ideas for controls are:
WASD = Movement
Mouse Left = Grab
Mouse Right or Shift = Dash
F = Talk
Space = JUMP

About difficult:
I believe I have played through every level in this demo, and I think people would prefer to have a more "relaxing" experience instead of stressing over some impossible jump. I'd say leave the difficult for the mid-end game, when people are already used to the controls.

I've been avoiding speaking on this thread, but I have to say this now or it's going to bug me; you can change your keybinds by pausing and going to the options menu.

i'll look into this, thanks for the feedback :)

some notes in regards to stuff i've seen pop up in here:
  • gale will eventually have h-scenes with athena and others
  • i'm making daggers infinite but weaker next patch
  • the tutorial will gradually be reworked and improved
  • i'll be changing the reset button to be a function key by default, and will make all debug buttons rebindable
  • the starting difficulty is still being reduced to be smoother to get into (learning curve, control polish, level design, etc)
  • i'm not going to make the game super easy though, sorry. if you don't mesh well with 2D platformers you likely won't enjoy this game unless i sacrifice my vision a lot, which would be silly
  • that being said, a gallery will be a thing eventually
  • you can rebind your controls in pause>options. keyboard/mouse/gamepad works. i saw something about a joystick potentiometer(?) not working right and will look into it, but that is definitely not something i'm familiar with
that's not my full roadmap for what i want to do with the game, but it should answer some common questions!

i also want to clarify some things:
  • you don't need to dash to wall jump, i have no idea where this rumor came from. dash jumping is useful for overall movement though!
  • going through rooms reduces Athena's desire, as stated by in the notification in the corner
  • all rooms are currently available every run
  • athena's titles constantly change depending on what happens, there is no reason for a title reset to exist

can you please explain what "combo" is needed to increase "skill" and how can I do this?

Why do you have to hold the grab button?
If you pick her up by pressing the fittingly named up, you don't have to hold the grab button, the grab button is pretty redundant actually, you can throw her with the attack button as well, making the game playable entirely without it for now

ah, that's an oversight my bad, it's not a finished feature yet
Also the Love stat can go over the supposed max of 100, don't know if that's intended or not
