Identify RPG Maker game with a radically different battle system

Not sure what the battle system was. I know it was turn-based, and more similar to Sonia and the Hypnotic City than to the typical Final Fantasy clone style.
I believe the team behind the game also made at least one other with a similar battle system.

I don't remember what the story was, but the female MC gets slowly corrupted by a dark-skinned male prisoner.
The MC needs some information from him, I believe, so she subjects herself to his whims to get it. I think she falls for him and eventually breaks him out iirc.
I think the prisoner guy was working with someone trying to claim the MC's something something magical heritage something something?

Hopefully I haven't merged two games in my head. I know the game I'm looking for is quite old (because it's not in my current collection, which means I lost it in a tragic HDD death a few years ago)

If only either the story or the battle system are familiar, it might be that I'm thinking of two separate games, so do let me know if you recall either! Sorry I don't have much to go on, but I play an excessive amount of these games, so they've kind of blurred together.

Definitely a Scalegarden game, I think the one you're thinking of in particular is Breath of Fire and Iron

Edit: On second thought, it's probably Sangeki of Gear, which would better match the old game description, but I more or less have all of those games blurred together in my mind as well

Rhode's Fortress was the next game I was going to hunt for. Scalegarden doesn't have either game on their English DLsite profile so I didn't think that was the right circle, even though I was just playing Pink Slave.
