You might be partially right but still, even for a Part 1 ending it feels really unfinished. Just because Merlin implies "we're not done yet" doesn't really make it better. The ending felt so lackluster, even WITH the implication.

For me, there's a difference between being lighthearted and actually making your journey feel like a joke. While the references and puns are indeed funny and lighthearted, at least some enemies do make you their slave (if you lose twice) and you sometimes even get a Bad End. It doesn't make sense for the story to be "intended" to have no stakes or consequences when that's the case - these ARE literal consequences after all. Then you reach the ending and somehow Irina knew everything or wasn't really surprised when something happened. Same goes for Merlin since all of a sudden, everyone is her disciple, even Queen(!?) but then you, who knows nothing, had to fight all these enemies, play the fool who follows along and risk becoming a slave (which apparently Irina and Merlin also knew could happen but didn't care about) when they could've just GIVEN you the memory fragments and/or trained you normally.

My point is, I don't like it when a story feels unnecessary and is just there for contents sake. There was never really any need to take these risks to get to the outcome but Irina, Merlin and everyone else doesn't care. That's what makes it feel like a joke.
Since it's implied that Irina is lying, yes, there could be more behind it but then again, we don't know that yet. In hindsight, the story feels forced, not like a natural development of situations and this downgrades the game for me (besides other factors I mentioned). It's still a game with great potential and I am sure the devs will do better next time but yeah, definitely needs improvement. Btw I am not expecting a grand story but just one that at least makes sense.
The story starts off with you just collecting your previous companions and memories, but it delved deeper due to the queen's plans/interventions.
And actually, the part where most of the girls are just Merlin's disicplie are not true, they are:
1. Irina
2. Hakumei
3. Lapan
4. Fortuna
5 if you count the MC
I think you're misinterpreting it since the word "disciple" does get thrown out everywhere, like Haoyun is Xiaofu's disciple, the 3 kitsunes are Hakumei's disciples, and Magina is Fortuna's disciple.

As for why the MC is going around fighting these hot, sexy girls, as I said at first, it was because we're searching for memory fragments, but over time, when high-ranking succubuses came up like Ravella, Helvina, and Edenia, we're forced to train ourselves with Hakumei and Fortuna, which is exactly what the Queen wants of us, she wants us to fight and become stronger while more resilient to temptations (even though we're pretty much still vulnerable to it, guess we can say Willpower training).

At the end, the reason for Merlin's depowering and kidnapping is to prevent her from interfering with the queen's plans, as in the past, it was Merlin who sealed "Yume" to create the now peaceful and happy dream world. but the queen took pity on "Yume" as it is not fair that all of us get to enjoy peace while she is sealed for eternity, but there's one problem, "Yume" herself is, uhh how do i say this, like Mahoraga, she can adapt to anything she fights, for example: if you are a strong warrior, she will transform into a high ranking wizard with physical resistances, and vice versa if you are a strong wizard, she will simply become a warrior with magic resistances
That's why the MC is the perfect guy to fight "Yume" since he's vulnerable to temptation, "Yume" would turn into, while hot and sexy, quite weak in combat, Succubus. That means there's a chance to beat her and reason with her if the MC's willpower is enough to resist her without bloodshed.
Still, the end does imply that the girl we got out of that place was NOT "Yume"
