Ren'Py - Completed - S.H.E.L.T.E.R. - An Apocalyptic Tale [v1.0] [Winterlook]

Bought this on Steam last year. Fun game with some unexpected kinks popping up (wasn't a member here yet so no list of tags on Steam like here). There are no animated sex scenes so if that is a deal breaker than be aware. Have played both romance and corruption route to unlock the gallery. The game is complete from the playthroughs I have done. No "TBC" or "not in this build" messages. Depending on how much of a hardass you play the MC as you either end up as Negan or a pervier Rick Grimes (no zombies in the game but a good analogy).

This is a well realized post-apocalypse world where the MC has two branching paths: (i) corruption and mind control, or (ii) true love. Either way, the player will navigate a VN adult game with plenty of great art and an emphasis on knocking up all the women in the game.

This game does have some drag/grind with resource collection that could have been tighter, but otherwise it's a smooth gameplay experience with little to no bugs. There is a variety of quality in the art, but thankfully the range is from "excellent" to "good" so no complaints on my end. I would recommend for anyone who enjoys adult VNs.

Was amazing in both story and gameplay, but it feels like it just ends a bit short with it being right after you beat the bandits wish there was a bit more to do after though I understand why they didn't do that because then there would be no set end for the story.

The only reason this is not five star is it felt like the story had more to give. It is a really good game must play. But I wish they had done another story arch.

They could also take this game and make it a bases for a much bigger game.

Really liked this one played it quite a lot while it was in development, pity that it ends so abruptly, it feels like the developer just got tired of it and wanted to end the story.

I like the characters and their designs.
I like the setting,

The only thing I can really criticise is the abrupt ending, felt like the scenario had way more potentail, the other game of the developer doesnt really interest me.

A very nice solid game.
It isn't something mind blowing, but I really enjoyed it.

The ending is rushed, I'm assuming the developers grew bored of working on this project?
I'm not sure, but either way, the overall game wasn't bad. It would of been nice to see what it could have been if not rushed, it's a shame, but it is what it is.

It has a small yet pleasurable story, and you can pretty much F who you want, when you want.
I love it when games give you the choice to select between 'Corruption' or 'Love' with each character, and for that reason alone it's a win-win.

The game is good. But it could be rated just as average too (I fell sad saying this). I really liked the game. The renders are awesome, the variety of spots to explore, the way that you could choose how you would act about the things that was happening ( a path they definitely should invest into) and the game in general. The sad part of it is the story. Many parts of it feel incompleted. When the game starts introducing raiders and conflict, that should generate like so much content, but is actually end game. It feels like the potential of this game was to be a excellent game, but actually came out as a mid tier/ just a good game.

Post-apocalyptic game where we live in an underground shelter. Sounds familiar?

For a sandbox style game, S.H.E.L.T.E.R. is not that big (only takes around 10 hours to finish), doesn't have any grind, doesn't force you to repeat the same events over and over, and doesen't force you to wait hours before getting into any steamy content. For main girls, i would say this game have just enough amount of buildup. Especially with ours family members, we know them for a long time so we dont need much time to establish relationship with them. Some other girls, from outside the shelter felt rather too quick. Many girls have two routes, romance and corruption with different scenes so you won't see everything in one playthrough. Plot in the game is rather simple but it works. We have to repopulate the world. This makes sense in this setting so we actually have a valid reason to get laid with every lady we see, including our mother and sisters. After leaving our underground vault, we can take control of nearby settlement, built different buildings like garage or greenhouse and defend it against bandit raids. The game ends rather abruptly when we deal with bandit leader.

Game features 2D pictures and no animations. It's a nice change from the usual DAZ renders. The art style is rather nice, it looks high quality but lack of any animations is disappointing. Girls and sex scenes looks nice, but since most of the time they only have one camera angle and two or three different pictures, they could be better. Music is solid.

Overall S.H.E.L.T.E.R. is a solid example of sandbox game done right. This game doesn't waste your time. It could be better and bigger, but what we have here is nonetheless quite a positive experience.

Probably one of the best Porn Games Ever to be quite honest.
Good enough story, different paths to be taken, etc. Pretty good.
Oh and it has good pregnancy CG which is nice. I need to type 200 thingies so uhhh....

Gameplay: 4/5, shallow but enjoyable the entire time, not really the primary focus anyway.

Story: 3/5, at times I was genuinely absorbed into the story, otherwise it ends too abrubtly, has some parts that read weird but overall a decent story.

Art: 4/5, inconsistent as hell, it will seem as if 3 different people were working on the CGs at some points and it can be so jarring. When it's good though, it's fantastic.

Overall: 4/5, Could've used some more fleshing out in the Corruption route and maybe more CGs for the less used characters but at least the dev finished the game and gave it a decent ending. Solid work, excited to see more.

Shelter has decent art and a solid concept, but the biggest issue with the game is that it just got pretty much abandoned in the finale.
The romance and writing in general is fine, but I can't give this game higher than average as the end of the game feels thrown together because the devs probably either didn't know how to tie it all together nicely or just got bored and threw the end together in a hurry.
Its disappointing but the first half is pretty decent, just needed a proper end

Very good, the art was better than I thought it would be from the screenshots with plenty of girls to have fun with. i recommend the MOD too free extra scenes that are just as high of quality as the original,

10/10 game. Only rating 4 stars because of the half-assed ending. This game had potential but it was abandoned early, but other than that, great game. The art is an absolute 10/10. The pregnancy scenes are also 10/10. The plot is easy and linear to follow. I do wish the settlement wasn't so welcoming to the MC since it feels that the MC had it too easy, but it's fine. Would recommend everyone to play this game.

This game was great! I normally don't go for 2d, but this was truly fun. The characters are impressively designed, displaying meticulous attention to detail. The outcomes and choices are complex, keeping me engrossed in the storyline. The mini-quests are enjoyable, although the daily routine can feel repetitive at times. However, it doesn't diminish the overall entertainment value. Looking forward to exploring more from the talented developers!

Positives: gorgeous art, minimal dialogue to get to the good stuff. If you're into impregnation this game will be right up your alley. Story is apt for that.

Negatives: characters lack depth and are a bit one-note - quite boring to put it bluntly. The personalties could be more distinguishable from each other. Game can be grindy at times too in terms of resources.

Overall: pleasing to the eye, would like it more if they were animated but the art is top notch regardless. The game could use a bit more nuance in terms of overall story writing and character personalities, but it's worth a playthrough.

Good game with spicy pictures of a variety of girls. You get basically two routes, that being vanilla and corruption. Unfortunately lacks animated scenes, but it's not a total deal breaker. The girls' designs, in my opinion, hold up the scenes despite the lack of visual movement.

Love how the characters all have their different personalities + the various options stem from MC decision, from tentacles to arach woman. Also like how the romance routes have much more pics than the MB route, and the plot is linear enough my OCD doesn't kill me when I try to collect the whole gallery.

Dude, you've got ONE job. Your game is a VN with nothing but pictures and text. Don't tell these things in a text box, SHOW them. Don't be lazy. The visuals are like 80% of the game.

Also having the father around all the time sucks. He's like an old creep with voyer fetish. Game would be much better if you were alone with the ladies.


Other than that the game is really cool! Refreshing gameplay with just the right amount of text and great art.

Excelent game with decent visuals, moderate to low grinding, a lot of sexy women (and other.. things . It has nice visuals with excelent writing and hot sex scenes descriptions. While life in a shelter after an apocalypse is not new, impregnating the women around you is. You get to see a sex scene with every woman you manage to seduce buth - in normal and in pregnant state. The most unique I found is having sex with a pregnant futa (pregnant shemale). Another thing I like about it is the Fallout vibe it has.
