Minor things:
  • after the well quest in the village, you can talk to Ellanon again immediately after she tells you to talk to the villagers to see if they changed their minds; Sadie will act like she already talked to the villagers. Should probably require chatting up at least one villager before triggering Sadie's reaction, with Ellanon just urging her on
  • a non-interactable Ellanon is in Sadie's Inn room in Svetlanda straight from the start, when Ellanon is still wandering the city with Sadie. Que?
  • The armoured legs on two of the enslaved kids are kind of weird. Shit's expensive
  • Dinistra's Blow of Rage description might be missing a 'You'. 'They may have adopted the rage, [you] were born in the rage' was meant, I think
Also, is it wrong that I want Allison as a party member? Special attacks Resting Bitch Face (Passive; Reflects attack back on the enemy), Contemptuous Glare & Permit A38 (Status Effect: Confusion). Magic Piercing Gaze (Info on enemy stats)

I may or may not really like Allison.

I also feel like I might want to give Leonidas a ride. You know. Just to try him out a little bit...

And Neemar. Dude's loyal to a fault and capable. He deserves a reward, goblin or not.

And I can definitely see why the cops are located in the merchant district.

Is Sadie... a perverted, bloodlusty version of Katarina Claes? Isekai'd, loves romance novels (from the chat with the shopkeeper)...
Thanks. I'll fix the three bugs. The image might change in the future, though no promises there.

Allison is someone I hoped players would enjoy. I've tried to be extremely careful in making sure missions work because of how absolutely snarky Allison gets when you try to turn in a mission but don't have one completed. She has Big Bureaucrat Energy in spades.

Neemar will have many more opportunities (for players who want to go there). Gotta set it up to make sense but I won't cock-block the little guy forever. As for Leonidas, well, he's probably not getting out of jail anytime soon...or will he? Stay tuned! [But no, he's probably not leaving side joke status...unless...]

And yeah, the constables in Svetlanda watched The Wire and said, "Feh, amateurs."

After whatshername, the catgirl takes Ellanon's place, it's still Ellanon who tells Sadie to not go to the slums - in the first area of Svetlanda. The areas further [Edit]east west, I am directionally challenged[/Edit], it's the catgirl instead.

I greatly appreciate the effort that went into the bookstore (and I did find the super potion. And the 125 free xp. I'm as obsessively knocking on doors regardless of how much Ellanon complains as I am going for every bookshelf in sight).

Hm. Serves me right for posting before reaching end of content. Neemar gets his just reward, after all.

Waking up, having ONE meeting and immediately being too tired for more quests is a bit much, I think. I mean, yeah, work meetings tire me, too, but still... and that happens three times before one can free roam again!?

Well, regardless. End of content reached, hooray. Gotta say though, fluffy tail kitsune has an amazingly high opinion of herself, considering how squishy she is.

Only got her after the portal quest (didn't realise you have to stand next to her, not in front of her in the police station, Or doesn't the trigger trigger until a few quests after the hint with the police station is dropped?). Probably made that quest a bit rougher than intended, but hey, it helped grind skill stats. And Karin would probably have died from the firepower those guys threw around.

The economy remains scarce but doable.

... Jesus christ, I've max'd out Neemar's double attack skill. I don't even know when that happened. Hopefully not too far back. I'll have to grind some others...

And I'm not sure whether the swords one can buy from the weapons shop or the salesman in front of the city gates are a red herring or whether different party combinations are possible. I have this deep-seated suspicion that the young noble I sparred with was a potential party member. Y'know. If I didn't fuck him.

Thanks for reporting that Lexi wasn't the one to warn Sadie away from the slums. I'll fix that and have Lexi say it when she's in the party instead of Ellanon. That's going into 0.2.3.

The more I think about the bookstore, I'd say that one of the biggest indicators of whether a person will enjoy this game is asking the question, "You're in an in-game bookstore. How many of the shelves will you click on and read, knowing that there's zero plot relevance in the game?" The person who says, "All of them, duh! And throw in some cheesecake while you're at it." That's the target audience.

Understood on the annoyance of having to sleep between meetings. My goal there was to introduce a little bit of time progression in the story without having to worry about days of the week or timers or anything like that. A little bit of it is the downside of being on the edge of development, where I'm feeding out missions onsie-twosie. Once Act II is complete, a full play through the act should feel more organic, as there will be more wakeup missions, as well as a combination of Guild, Isekai Order, and Diplomatic Quarters missions that you can tackle at the same time. But in the meantime, Sadie needs her beauty sleep.

Karin is recruitable as soon as Lexi lets you know about her and the soonest this happens is after you successfully complete 6 Guild quests. If you visit the Police Substation before then, she's lazing about in her cell and makes a joke about conjugal visits. But once Lexi lets you know about this interesting prisoner, you can click on her cell door and Karin gets a bit more excited as she takes a closer look at you. And yes, she's quite squishy at first, though she does become a pretty good glass cannon once you build her up some. I'll probably leave her as-is for now, though it makes sense to up her starting level a little bit because Sadie and co are probably 4-5 levels above her by this time. Most likely, I'll save that for the 0.3.0 reckoning when I take a much closer look at stats progression, levels, skills, etc. etc.

The swords were a throwaway joke, though Swords McGee absolutely takes his sword salesmanship seriously. You won't find a hint of rust on those babies. But as a spoiler, yes, there will be a sword-using character at some point and no, it wasn't the noble. He's too busy being ingratiated into Svetlandan politics to go tramping about in Sadie's harem traveling party.

And now for once a serious bug report: Interacting with the (I assume) prostitute blowing the guy in the upper-east part of the slums results in the image staying on the screen afterwards. The error stays after saving/reloading, and is replicable when loading an older save.

I went to the closing store and talked with the store desk lady about the additional information but I have no idea what to do now and it's not checked out and I don't know what to do about Mr Robinson? Where do I find him?

If you're talking about the beginning, where you need to do helpful things for people around town, Dr. Robbins was the very rude gentleman that you spoke to in the Inn. Speak to him again and you'll deliver his clothing.

Thanks for the report. I'll fix that in the upcoming release. If you're stuck with the image on the screen in the meantime and can't continue, please drop a savefile here and I'll give you a quick fix.

I started the game again to try and do it all over again. And I did it before that little part came up and now I can't talk to him, I went back to the clothing store after I got that. Uh information slot and still nothing.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean. But I will say that the clothing store bit where you deliver that man's clothing order to him is totally optional. You don't need to do it to continue the story, as there are enough other ways to help out people in town.

There is also another thing that happens later on, where you walk into the clothing store and somebody bumps into Sadie. That will be plot-important but it happens a little later in Act I.

Hey,

Thanks for this nice game !

where is the Diplomatic Quarter please ?

Thanks,
Best regards.
You can find it in the very top left corner of the Noble District. There is a dual set of gates you have to cross and then talk to one of the guards in orange armor. If you're far enough along in the plot, they'll take you inside.

Quick heads up to everybody that 0.2.2 was released on Thursday. It's in the queue for update here, but in the meantime, you can get the changelog and download from Mega at . That's a free Patreon post so you don't need to be a free/paid follower to see it.

Can Fire I / Flame I not be leveled?

The image stuck on screen bug in the slums still occurs on 0.2.2. I've had this previously in the first town (goblin girl at the guild, I think it was).

Having finished the dungeon in the Find a Sword quest, talking to Jericross (inside) gives dialogue implying we haven't been to the dungeon yet.

Fire I and Flame I do level up like other skills, but because they aren't part of Sadie's normal skill set, they don't appear on the Skills screen. When they level up, you'll see a message pop up like when any other skill levels, and I've confirmed that the formula does work based on her skill level. I'll see if there's a good way for me to display those skills as well on the screen

Yeah, the Jericross dialog when you talk to him in the bar at the back of Isekai Order HQ will go back to what it was before his mission, with the final conversation being "Don't mind me. Just going to finish the bottle and hit the hay." I don't currently have any new dialog for him or Sabrina after their missions because I wanted to make sure people could still see the first dialog for each character, regardless of whether the player has finished that Isekai Order mission. Sabrina's is somewhat plot-important, whereas Jericross's is banter. But I might add something else post-mission, as it would make narrative sense.

Just to confirm, the image getting stuck on the screen happens when you talk to the black-haired girl giving head to the guy at the top of the Slums, in between two houses? I ask because I'm testing with 0.2.2 in both scenarios (if Sadie has performed enough naughty acts to see the full sequence, and if she has not and only sees the abridged sequence), and that image goes away in both cases for me. If you happen to have a save file, I could check the settings and see what the problem is. Or, if it's a different image that gets stuck on screen, I can check that out. Thanks for the report.

game seems to be slowing down this update? Input is delayed and everything runs like its moving through jelly

seems to be fights causing it maybe?
Restart seems to fix it, but doing 4 fights in a row was pain

Also anybody also not having any sound/music whatsoever?
I checked, 0.2.1 had sound

If I could ask you for a quick playtest, could you try ? It's the exact same code as 0.2.2 except I've disabled one plugin that I think might be the culprit. If you could let me know whether your experience is significantly better with this version, I'd be much obliged. I haven't noticed any slowdowns on the two machines I use for development and test, but those are both pretty beefy machines and that might be obscuring it for me. And if it is this plugin that is the problem, I'll just remove it altogether and rework the situations that need it (forthcoming in 0.2.3).

No sound is a weird one, though. Maybe it's related to the slowdown you're experiencing?
