So this game got a pretty big update that improves many aspects of the gameplay.
The pistols were modified quite a bit and are now a viable weapon, hurray! The new magic system also changes the gameplay dynamic quite a bit. If you have not played this game in a while, now is a great time to revisit it if you wanted gameplay improvements!
The only complaints I have on the gameplay now are how it can be near impossible to recover once you get swarmed because you have no i-frames after getting up, getting your clothes torn seems to disable your ability to quick-recover (or I'm just messing up the timing that bad) and I feel like the pistols' "charge attack" (the one that shoots airborne enemies) should also be sped up like the main combo was to make it easier to transition between attacking airborne enemies and grounded enemies.
I find it hard to recover my weapon once disarmed as I tend to get "grab-locked" or "clothes-tear-locked". It might have to do with the Tenzae being fast or maybe i-frames after getting up could leave the player some time to recover their weapon.
Keep in mind, these small complaints mainly come from the survival mode, which is fairly different from the Patreon main mode, so my complaint might not necessarily apply to normal mode.
I noticed that, when you lose your pistols, your dodge switches to the sword's dodge once disarmed. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, just pointing that out.
It could be interesting to have Mana Potions now that there is a magic system.
Otherwise, a big thank you and congratulations to the dev for these balance changes that, in my opinion, greatly improve the gameplay! I'm excited for what's to come! I hope the new mini-gels will have grabs.
