You may as well not even have Avast installed, it is about as effective as having nothing at all. At least you will save resources on your PC not having Avast installed.
But if you are poor and need free anti-V, then try Eset, far superior and obviously the paid version is even better but the free version should get you by far better then Avast.

Windows Defender is pretty good nowadays. Best of all, it's free and it comes with windows.

Unless you're on Win 7 or less, I see no reason to use anything other than Windows Defender)
