Possibly, but you are likely going to get further future crashes for games and applications without them. So I would recommend installing them outside of the sandbox unless you run literally every Windows application inside the sandbox.

Hello, I was just wondering whether you know if the Windows security Control
flow guard exploit protection can prevent Sandboxie Plus from functioning?

The reason I’m asking is that after rebooting my PC to install Windows updates, something broke Sandboxie Plus and I was trying to work out what it was.

I would try to start any program sandboxed and it would immediately terminate. After setting Control flow guard to ‘off by default’ and rebooting again, the problem was resolved. I have never had to do this before, so
I’m wondering if that really was the root of the problem or if it was a coincidence.

I will turn CFG back on and reboot once again to test it, but I’m just glad it’s working again.

I would recommend going to Windows Event Viewer and looking through the logs. Much earlier in the thread I came across an issue with tokens that indicated to me there was a potential security vulnerability there, leaving the settings as is. Don't believe that is the issue for you though.

The other thing you can do is run SFC and DISM to confirm Windows is working properly and its system files are intact. Many times intermittent crashes are caused by faulty system files or hardware (memory corruption etc) not misconfigurations. Don't really assume anything; go to even viewer-run SFC-run DISM then run a chkdsk and memory diagnostic. Open CBS.log see if windows is replacing system files
