VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Sanguis et Imperium [v0.2] [Helheim]

V. 0.2 Well, the story is sometimes interesting, especially at the beginning I was intrigued, but then starts to evolve in really strange waters. The interactions with the mother are getting stranger and stranger and you get degraded more and more. And the MC is a WIMP! Who lets himself be smeared with cum from another guy by his mother and says NOTHING?!! Then he starts to get on a rant about religion (the developer seems to have his issue with religion in general) and the story crosses paths with the Borgia (totally unnecessary and the actions get just more and more outrageous. But the visuals let this game stand out!

What can I say.... The game is beautiful, very well written, has a great soundtrack, is very well written, has a story which is so far very promising and lastly it really is very, very well written.

I'll save some time and just quote the unpronounceable one a few reviews below: "This, ladies and gentlemen, is how you do character introductions, setting, and pacing; at an extraordinary quality. Top Tier Storytelling."

All told it's a superb effort thus far and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Oh, and in case I forgot to say: it really is very, very well written.

Hmmm. It starts off interesting. But then the focus starts wading into a ton of different characters and back story.

Even worse, it gets wrapped up in the Borgia's, for my tastes, a completely over-hyped historical event that attracts far too much interest.

Also, this game is making the same mistake I see a ton of porn comics make... sex scenes with non-protagonists. I don't care if the bad guy, or some neutral guy, or anybody else is having sex somewhere.

I don't care if this dude is having sex, or if he's committing sins. I only care how his story crosses paths with the protagonist.


For my tastes, keep the story focused on the MC. At the beginning, how he's introduced with his mother, that works. He's involved, it's part of his story and character growth.

If this kind of storytelling appeals to others, that's fine. It's just not my cup of tea. These are purely my interests and my opinion, they are not an attack on other points of view or tastes.

The game is beautiful, I'll give it that. Also better written than most, even with the few typos I've seen.

So, I'll be giving this a pass. Hopefully I've provided enough information to others that if what bothers me doesn't bother them, they'll give the game a try.

This is unbelievable. Script 5, Music 5, Renders 5, Models 5. I love the historical setting of the script. It shows that the developer has put a lot of love into this work. Can't wait for next update.

Just like previous comment has mentioned, playing this game is like watching a netflix movie. I subscribed on Patreon right after I finished v0.2 Alpha.

0.1.3v review.

Playing this game feels more like watching a netflix movie than playing a game on renpy engine. Renders, music and plot are all exceptionally well done. Even incest with mom is well played out, it feels natural and not forced. Needles to say I have high hopes on this game.

Anyway, the review.

MC is having a flashback from childhood when everything was well and good. Your mother is a whore and your father is a massive jerk, and this is what MC is dreaming of. How the plot is written makes me feel that there is neither a villain nor a hero. Everyone is right and wrong at the same time. Characters are humans, they behave like humans. There is no ultimate truth behind any of this, they do what they want and pay the price. I think this will be one of the best games in this forum.

I really loved it. Good renders . Promising story. Can not wait for the next update. I really Love Incest because it not accepted in the real world in our country, So i try to enjoy the games most which has incest content in it. And I a big Fan of Fantasy stories which takes place in history.

So far so great, The renders seems amazing, the game has a great atmosphere to t and somehow you can feel the emotions from the characters. Its very early still and so far i don't see any story to it but i am sure this will change in the future. Great potential to this game

It's still early, but so far the renders and emotional intensity in the story are amazing. It's got the unique quality of having top-shelf modern graphics combined with narrative sensuality you'd find in old erotic books your grandmother used to read, which sounds wrong but is actually a positive thing since those stories were not afraid to use taboo and voyeurism effectively.

The renders are good. Not the best, not the worst, but good.

The story is non existent. The "story" so far is made up of a voyeur scene and the MC ogling his mother. Sure, there's potential there, but I've seen plenty of potential go to waste previously. This is a barebones concept release, and most likely a long time will pass before there's any meaningful, worthwhile content there.

Pretty short as of now (0.1.3), but that's understandable.
Art is absolutely top tier and story is interesting enough that I didn't even skip through it as I usually do. Can't wait for future updates.

A solid game on every single parameter.
It looks good, story isnt bad.. not much to say really.
The story does lack in explaining whats actually going on, but Im guessing its a slow burn revelation game.

And thats the crux of it. Its simply not worth downloading yet.
As of 0.1.3, there is pretty much 3mins of game and thats it.

And in my eyes that doesnt bode well. Even if monthly updates.. if they arent significantly bigger than this start, youll be skipping updates for a year to feel like you get anywhere.

Wow. Thus far this is fantastic. Earlier this week I was speaking to a friend about the fact a few projects began this year that seem to be striving to evolve the quality and depth of the storytelling within the medium. This would seem to be the perfect example of exactly that trend. The renders likely have set a new high-water mark, as well.

This game is absolutely great.
The story so far feels very engaging and the writing is great as well. The renders are very well done. Overall I'm super eager to see this game grow, good luck to the dev!

The cinematic renders are too awesome to be said in words. After seeing the screenshots i had doubts whether the game would live upto the expectations. I was a fool to ever doubt such magnificent creation.

Ok, now that the dramatic opening is done with, let's move on to the review.

Renders are excellent, and gives the game, a game publisher developed feel. I thought the dark lighting i saw from the screenshots may hinder my experience, but i was wrong. It actually made the game more enjoyable.

Stories are what captivates the audience and makes them intrigued or curious enough to navigate through the game. And this game has done that very beautifully, with time period drama and novelty of backstories that enriches the game with a storytellers perspective.
What is a storytellers perspective? First, we have a narrative pov, a chronological depiction of a series of events.
Second, it should be about people – what they experience, what they feel, how they grow and change.

The only problem i had with the game was that it stopped letting me skip after the Lucas? doing it on the table scene. (i playthrough games more than once to see the subtle changes occuring from the choices). I tried skip unseen.

this is game is now in first list of my favorite games. top notch rendering quality and best in class story line makes it more and more appreciable. especially the milf is the main reason why i liked it so much. thank you dev team for giving us this classy product.

Excellent beginning. I suggest adding some 'non' consensual elements into the gameplay to go along with the dark and foreboding theme. The art style is exceptional as is the selective animation. I look forward to future updates !

the second update was really good and the animations are great, the renders are unique and great. Characters are as well unique and different.

..... oh, sorry there! I just needed to pick up my jaw from the floor after what I just played.

This game is freakin' amazing! Or at least, the start that is, since this is only the beginning. There's probably around 30 mins of gameplay for now (v0.1.1).

But everything is simply outstanding! The visuals, the music, the atmosphere, the entire historical setting... There's a perfect balance between mystery, suspense and realism. And on top of that, this was some of the hottest and most 'real' incest that I've ever seen in a game! Actually it doesn't really make a lot of sense to explain it in words. I'd recommend anyone to just play this game and experience it yourself.

There was one thing that did bother me a little, and I'm not sure why, but at times I found it difficult to follow the story. As a non native English speaker I'm not sure if that was because of the language being overcomplicated or just grammatically wrong, but both the story and the dialogue seemed a bit off sometimes.

Apart from that, great game with amazing potential! Possibly the best one on this website!! (provided it continues like this)
