I can't progress beyond this point, as I have no money to buy the cable
and if I do say yes to buy it, the mouse disappears, thankfully I can use ESC to quit the browser and carry on

Had the same happen to me. AceStudio Apparently it might be caused by having the shop already opened before the quest, might want to check that. Try to press the arrow on the top left to go back and re-open the shop to trigger the flag. At least that worked for me.

Still buggy..still can't get by grabbing the chips (always freezes). Have tried downloading multiple times and starting over from last (new version)save. Will never go past the 'get the chips' stage.

Same issue here, but this solution did nothing that I can see. I can't afford the cable. Even if I say "No" to the purchase, it locks.

Edit: Now I see the issue. Do NOT look at the laptop before this mission.

Well..that might be part of the program as no such file exists - local, local low nor roaming.

they may be hidden... put %appdata% in the windows search. Then you'll be in the Roaming folder. There you should go one folder back and you'll be in the AppData
