They're not bombing, but they are consistently dropping. Right now he lost about 200 bucks which is a big deal for a smaller dev.

The number of patrons dropped by less than 10. The dollar amount dropped about the same as it did after the release of 0.6 (his patreon is per release instead of month) which happens to literally every patreon account after the first of the month / release.

1. Dev introduces something to the game (Good, Bad, Controversial, poorly implemented, I don't fucking care)
2. People (Group 1) started whining about it.
3. Other people (Group 2) started whining about the whiners
4. Group 1 seems to be getting the Dev to change/remove what they don't like (whining successful?)
5. Now Group 2 is whining (through passive aggressive mockery) about Group 1 apparent success.

or a least that is what I have been able to gleam from the shit storm that seems to have blown in here, barring the occasional reasoned response.

I like the project which is why I agreed it's not bombing like someone is implying. Anyone familiar with Patreon knows devs lose some pledgers before the next pay cycle. I wasn't aware of his charge being by release, but isn't it true that you need over 100 pledgers to have the pay up front option? So for him he should be fine so long as he doesn't drop to less than 100.

Go look at his page. He's down over a hundred $ today.

Could be just the monthly thing but its not usually well over 10% loss just for monthly pay failures. Something else is going on.

So what we learned from this story. Group 1 and 2 must stop whining and not take these games so seriously.

I do welcome most fantasies and don't judge other people ones if it stays only as cyber fantasy.

One thing that no one has really commented on, but as far as 'competition' goes, competition needs to be balanced. If it's not competitive, then it's an alpha male cucking you. I could think of a much better idea for this in 5 secs... Introduce the guy and call him competition, over the course of updates, introduce a time frame and tie it to how much the characters like you, how intelligent you are, handsome, etc. So if you don't win them over in a specific time frame he wins them over.

It's not difficult.

No it wasn't avoidable. I believe the Dev did say he was going to implement a way of getting rid of Martin in future updates, if that meant it could be done before he slept with them or not I'm not sure but my guess would be no.
