i haven't done this but i would assume it means ALL characters not just the hawk club members

As far as I can tell, it'll work fine until you get to latest content where their names/titles will revert. I loaded it up, so if you're starting from the beginning, it looks like it'll be fine until you get to whatever was included in this last update.
