Considering the fact that you can clip your exposed body through things and still be unseen, I believe your head might be part of the equation for their vision to register in some cases. Anti-jank measure that works just about perfectly. However it works, it probably took a lot of testing.

With that said, crouching under that sign didn't change anything. They just can't see through it. And NPCs can absolutely see my bits from under a truck or behind another person even if my head is hidden. It caught me out once in the truck's case. Came close a few times for both.

I know they can see through the slots in benches. I would call bullshit on that, but a human would be able to put 2 and 2 together in that scenario, and it makes logical sense, so I'm not fussed about it.

Thin foliage also provides partial concealment. They'll see through it, but slower. It rarely comes into play, since you can basically only do it with certain potted shrubs, like the one near the top of the front escalator.

I don't think your head even counts for been seen at all. I sometimes play as mega tall girl and her head is fully above things like walls and shelves. As long as the torso is not visible at all, you are perfectly safe. You can try it with crouching too, if only your head is out you are NOT seen. If only your head is visible it doesn't even count for the "flash while being watched" task.

Detection risk 10% is Minimum of possible in the game, I think.

That's not what he means. Of course if your body isn't exposed, it won't be seen. He means if your body is exposed but your head is hidden. In specific circumstances, that still counts as fully hidden.

Yes, 10% is the hard cap. That gets halved to 5% in darkness.
