Seems like things will be shaken up a bit with the game, hope that gives the game more funding of all the porn games this and Last Sovereign I so want to see finished one day. Think releasing every 2 months is a really good idea I've been leaving games for 2-3 updates and it makes a big difference having more content to bite into it comes across better as a player, think that'll work better and it gives them wiggle room. Also like the idea of it been in acts with effects and choices carrying over.
Wish they had been a little clearer on patreon how the backing and access to the game will work now it will not be free though. What happens if you're a backer but stop backing but had donated over the price of all 5 acts or however many there will be as an example. If each act is say $4 but you'd donated $50 do you get them acts even if you're not backing any more or are you expected to pay more? That's made me wary because that potentially means if you stop backing you'll be charged again down the road so why not just wait for release? I wouldn't want a steamkey as my son shares my library so is the act still downloadable from patreon. Hope they clear that kind of thing up once they work out how it's going to actually work.
I cannot wait to see what's going to happen after Rastedel and the orcs and goblins. My understanding is what's happened so far is the opening part of the game. I hope we can start to make choices that turn Rowan into a debauched and evil fucker in Act 2.
Hello. This is the situation as I currently understand it. I am staff, but if Arioch says anything to the contrary, consider my comments superceded.
1. Thank you for your enthusiasm for the game. We're pretty excited about 2 month dev periods too. One of the benefits is that some (but not all) new scenes will be able to come with art at launch.
2. I'm actually working on a really notable evil choice for Rowan in the upcoming few months. I hope you enjoy it. We know we've let his fall be drawn out, and we're hoping the payout for it is worth the time investment.
Regarding the new release strategy.
3. We will not be ending Itch.io or Patreon based releases, according to the current plan. We still plan for you to be able to play the game post-steam release outside of steam.
4. It's unclear how we plan to proceed on issues relating to multiple acts. However, if someone donates enough to receive a copy for the current act and then stops, they will be eligible to receive a copy of the Act based on the contributions they already put in. They simply will not continue receiving Patron builds during the time they are not Patrons. If you pay the full price of the Act in Patron fees, you will get the Act. Again, not sure how we will adjudicate if someone donates enough for all Acts and then stops.
5. We keep records of all past donations via Patreon. If someone has donated a certain ammount over time, we can keep track of it with ease.
I hope that answers your questions!
