Down the line, the current lack of choices may change. Might take a decade to get there at this point, but I imagine the author eventually wants to provide a path for the MCs to turn the tables on the demons. We're probably just too early in the story (with act 1 incomplete) to have any idea about future plans.

I always imagined that eventually there would be reversals and that actions can lead to very different fates. Like, accepting to stay a valued henchman, or taking over control of their forces at the very least, with perhaps a path where you destroy them and all you've built up and return a peaceful simple life. None of this is likely to happen in Act 1.

VNs can make pretty good interactive games - take some of the Eushully productions for example. I think that's what SoC is aiming to be.

Gameplay is far from perfect, but it's pretty fun overall. I you play a bit and learn how it works, the game becomes easy to navigate. You have more than enough time and resources to accomplish all the main goals (conquering Raeve keep, gaining allies, conquering Rastedel from inside). What is important to note is that most of your actions toward those goals take place in the exploration mode which is separate from the story mode. You can do all the stuff that is needed during the exploration and at the same time complete NPC arcs in the castle without any issues. Most of the sex scenes are tied to the castle NPCs. Other ones will occur naturally as you progress through the map, taking villages, abbeys, visiting Rastedel and orc/goblin camps.

I mean, isn't it obvious that the whole payoff is going to be towards the end? You can't build a functional RPG otherwise. If you can read, it should be blatantly obvious that MC is constantly presented with choices to build up his hand for potential betrayal. But you can't seriously expect an indie game, that would allow you to do 180 every chapter. Heck, tell me at least a couple of AAA games which would allow you to do something like this, without linear gameplay BS.

Better keep in shape so you can still get it up on that glorious day when we'll have a finished game with branching storylines, multiple endings and fully functioning systems.

Why make a Game so complected that even the devs don't have a clue about correct Walkthrough?

Wut? It is the VN. The only gameplay part is 'take the castle', then you can just press ctrl and pick any option, you will progress to win after that. Ok, maybe the issue with pink haired knight can lead you to fail.

I need to try this game again because I liked the NTR content very much but the gameplay of the game was hard to understand. Well maybe I skipped it a bit because there was too much lore all of a sudden..
But i'll give this game a new try

Better keep in shape so you can still get it up on that glorious day when we'll have a finished game with branching storylines, multiple endings and fully functioning systems.

Personally, I am not expecting anything. I am just stating facts. You can't go into a fast food restaurant and expect a full-course dinner served by a 5 star chef.

What I dislike about the Alexia x Andras stuff is that he was nice to her to win her over, and then becomes a complete asshole once he gets inside her pants, I wish he stayed nice or was an asshole to her from the start, choose 1, don't do both.

I think its supposed to be he broke her down to get the dick in her and now its all lust on her part. Good sex is how toxic people get others to stick around.

Not exactly a fast food restaurant we're talking about here, but fair enough.
Of course neither can that fast food place expect any Michelin stars just because they have plans to hire a new chef and totally revamp their menu at some undetermined point in the distant future.

Realistically it makes sense, but for the player it's a dickmove, as players might want to get them together because he's nice to her, just to be blindsided by him being an asshole to her the moment he gets his dick wet.
