Ren'Py Seeds of Chaos [v0.4.13a] [Vénus Noire]
I won't be playing this any time soon, as I want to get a mostly complete experience, but I did purchase on Steam to show support. Hope it gets finished within the next few years!
Probably something to get your research going. You usually have enough cash to get by and don't really need a ton of troops early on unless you're storming the castle.

i'd say the dark sancturary. that way you can infiltrate the fortress early on before you hit week 22. then you aren't hardpressed to do anything in particular and can explore the map to get mines, orc camps and abbys.
also i would advice to built certain functions quickly, like the brothel, forge and the breeding pit. this will allow you to meet certain characters earlier and not run the risk of getting repeating events, for the limited amount of weeks you have for the whole game. upgrades to already existing functions should be done later in the game.
Priority is probably something like this:
- Tavern - Income boost lets you build other buildings faster, unlocks minor, female character
- Brothel (requires tech) - Unlocks spies which you can use to resolve several events in new ways, Unlocks major, female character.
- Forge - Massively empowers Orcs, unlocks major, male character
- Dark Sanctum (requires tech) - Research Boost, unlocks major, futa character, unlocks bad unit.
- Monster Pit (requires 2? techs) - Unlocks major, male character, unlocks bad unit
- Arena - Required to unlock some Andras content and boosts morale
- Castle Hall upgrades - These give you an income boost, there's not much worth spending gold on after you have all of the above though
- Library upgrades - faster research if you find you're running out of things to build
Honestly, besides the Tavern you can do 2-5 according to which characters you want to unlock but having the Brothel before attacking the keep will let you choose a different way to conquer it which unlocks a different scene with Helayna.
Edit: The alternate resolution to Raeve Keep might be based on the Sanctum as well as/instead of the Brothel, in which case the Sanctum moves up to 2 and the Brothel moves down to 3 or 4 .

Man, the opening to this story has done nothing but leave me supremely pissed off. Like regularly contemplating just moving on. Obviously that must have been the devs goal, but what a strange goal. These half in/half out NTR games get real weird sometimes.
I haven't played the game further than the opening for around 7 years, I haven't even reached the map. However, later out of boredom, tried to push it further. The result was not that bad, considering all the options for your hero in the game.

It’s so fucked up that there isn’t a single way to save Helayna; Send an infiltrator? you get a bad outcome. Attack the castle full force? you get the same bad outcome, with the same number of casualties…
May God give this developer good health and let him finish this game, because when it’s time to get revenge on the twins, I swear I’ll drag Jezera from town to town and she’ll get the same treatment she gives Helayna, and that bastard Andras will be there watching everything and unable to do anything haha

It's so fucked up on purpose. This isn't supposed to be a hunkydory game you can always get the best outcome in. Oh, Im not afraid of tough choices, but that part was just stupid. The hero could’ve easily sacrificed the girl; there’s no reason to keep her alive after that. If her mind’s already broken and there’s no way to heal her, what’s the difference between her being the hero’s sex slave or the entire castle’s? Just end her suffering already.
And even if Jezera didn’t give that option, it should have been. It’s not like she could punish the hero, he’s way too useful to their plans.

This is most likely an outdated save and it looks like you can just go to:
game/locations/rowans_chanbers.rpy > line #81 and delete that line.
It looks like it may not change to the correct background image at worst...

Yeah, pretty much. While obviously, mileage and kinks will vary, and you can't expect all game updates to specifically cater to you, when a title covers multiple of those... imagine watching the game being stuck on numerous Goblin side stuff and content you might not care about, while the main story doesn't move at all for years. And without the alternative paths and routes for the main arc fully fleshed out, it would be a bit disheartening, even if you just patiently wait.
