I think it boiled down to that regular demons (not demon lords) can still be killed by regular weapons, but spawn of the demon lord needed magic weapons to take down, which Rowan didn't own because he was a peasant, not a magical knight.
Edit: I think its still technically POSSIBLE to kill them without those, just really really hard since both of them regenerate when damaged, as seen when Andras gets hit by an arrow during the siege and the wound is gone minutes later.

The amount of routes/characters in this game is impressive but also a major flaw imo. The sheer amount of content is awesome but I wish they could've cut half of that content to focus on progressing the main story (which I was actually invested in). If there is going to be side character content I wish they actually played a bit more importance to the plot. Which is why I really liked the Shaya and Patricia scenes. Seducing and winning over those two had actual weight since Shaya was a close informant of Jezera and Patricia could become your pawn in Rastedel. And Jezera NTR route was nice too considering it felt like an intense game between Jezera and Rowan was going on with each of them trying to win over people on the other's side.
However, a vast majority of this game feels like they threw in a bunch of random filler scenes that do nothing for the overall story. Don't get me wrong, some of my fav scenes in the game are a part of this optional filler content (best cubi x'zaratl, cliohna, andras ntr). They all have quality art and are great in isolation... but they're still too detached from the main story.
But the games been in development since before the pandemic and they have fan support so I don't see any changes being made.

You are spot on, I think the devs have said (I could be hallucinating!) that for the next acts they plan to cut a good chunk of choices. Which is something I wish they had done in the first place so we won't be bummed when going to the next act, but alas

Did I miss something? I’m pretty sure Tue-Mai had been exiled and wasn’t allowed in goblin territory anymore, but during the wedding the Tue sisters are talking as if nothing had happened.

I remember refunding RDR2 back when it released on PC around end of 2019. Got this one and many other indies on steam sale. How did the game progressed so far? Please tell me there are more than one arc done. I mean it's almost 6 years now lol
