I guess I am being a little too vague or people are just too cynical, but don't Indie devs on patreon tend to do status updates or progress updates on what they are doing with their games?

Kincaid does that and then there's the Space Girl games don't remember the exact name. Mystic Knight Maya also does that.

What I meant is it is up to the people who support the devs on patreon to ensure that they are actually supporting a dev that keep their promises, or supporting a dev that works on the game.

I wasn't talking about game development though, what makes you think that?

For now nothing to say, One character, dark enviroment where cant see anything, simple SWAD input. I would recomed give to people full demo with max functionaly and then put a price on it. so players will know for what they are paying.

I'd say wait a bit more before posting a game? Cluttering up the site with these barely started stuff isn't that good of an idea since not only does it make it harder to find, well, games, plus it's going to garner a bad repuation for a game before it's ready to put itself on display sometimes.

People nowadays don't really respect the pre-alpha/alpha/beta tag enough that it can be used as a gauge as how far exactly into the game development it is either.

Little bit off-topic (like everybody else atm), but if you accept tips, I'd suggest to avoid replying to comments like that.
When developing a game, you are not just coding and making graphics, but you also need to be able to interact with communities if you want people to play your game.

I get it, it is human to get angry or maybe being in a bad mood for other reasons, but if that's the case, simply close the thread and ignore the replies until you cool off. There's no point in getting angry and answering like that, people will simply laugh at you and move on.

Lots of us can produce something like that in a couple of days give or take. Yet your ego and expectations are on Hideo Kojima level if not higher.

thnks for the kind words, but I am not angry. Not at all... I just don't agree with being setup and abused... for example...yesterday I had my disord up and running, one of decieded to troll me, you nice on discord and flamed me on here. how is that even right, but none the less it happens... for me I don't really care about what other say, I am whom I am, but I will defend my own work and what i write, and in that context said person was taking my words and twisting them, I am just stating a fact, clearly they can't read.. thats a fact or they would not be posting shit like that...

You will be abused a lot, it's part of the game.
I am not even talking about people, F95Zone people are actually pretty nice, but Unity will abuse the hell out of you, especially if you decide to support multiple platforms.

You need to learn to handle stress, and turn it into fun. Like solving a puzzle or something, it does not have to be a negative experience.
Same when answering to seemingly negative comments, just take a breath and relax, be chill and as much professional as possible.
People's feedback is precious (especially when it comes to Unity) and it'll be the main (if not the only way) you'll be discovering bugs and hopefully fix them.
If you do not learn how to properly communicate with the community, your project is doomed to fail, all games are basically a community project in this sense.

Welp, here's what I'm seeing: A game was posted as a future concept on ichio, was uploaded here by mods, a Patreon was set up, then all things were placed on hold for further development.

Then we all see the v0.01 game here and think it's a demo uploaded on purpose for money.

So I'll hold the insults. The only complaint I have after reading is the game doesn't seem to have plans, at least not H-game plans. All I know about it is quests are planned.

An H-game isn't getting anyone's attention when quests are really the only plans we know of. Sexytime animations and genre are what brings attention to a H-game, assuming that's what this is.

I can't even suggest anything until I know the basic plans. The discord pic shows you don't plan to have beast, gay or vore. If it's a "slutty girl bangs random men and does fetch quests", I'll just play Beasthunter. But if it's "woman seeks kidnapped sister who's being gangbanged by futa succubi and needs rescued from creepy castle guarded by a dragon", now we have direction and a hell of an interesting plot.

Best way to prove all the trolls and haters wrong is to release a quality game (or quality updates). Look at Grimhelm, they go silent for years an release a finished or nearly finished product then and there when they resurface.

Best way to defend yourself is to show work done. No amount of words will speak louder than actions.
Scepticism thrown at you is not directed at you specifically, but at the whole industry of crowdfunded projects. This practice HAS been abused far and wide. This forum has multiple examples.

It's been 8 days since the thread was made and there has still been zero clarification as to what kind of game this will be. I don't think we ought to be posting every single itch.io project we can see the millisecond it's uploaded if they lack anything of substance in their current form. It causes clutter and nothing else.
