I doubt this effects much games that could be played offline. But if you are paranoid enough there is binary patchers that unity provides that should pretty much work with all Unity games that are effected (Versions since Unity 2017.1)

Doesn't seem like that to me, not in an obvious "just delete" way anyway. Downloaded from here today, it only contains the desktop version, the bulk of the size is the usual .sharedassets, .sharedassets.resS files.

Then I don't know. When I downloaded it contained both versions. My 1.7 folder is bigger then 1.6, but not by much
