I'm not lying when I say I want to make this game.

I'm also a working adult who needs food and a house to live. Like... I work 2 jobs now which I started after the demo of this game released when I had free time due to stimulus checks and getting laid off.

But if you guys want to give up on it that also makes sense. Even I understand the wait is painful. It's not like the game's scope has changed in the time I wanted to release this game btw. I still plan on making a short and simple experience. Not some epic long quest or anything.

It's your decision to hold out hope or not, but until I say I give up on it, I haven't given up on it.
Always astounds me when people act that way towards devs. Like the state of the world is getting worse every day. Everyone's more broke than ever, war is picking up again, and everyone's just so damn burnt out. Man, I barely have the motivation to play games, let alone develop one. How much progress could you possibly expect from an average dude making games as a hobby?

At least give updates, even the smallest thing would be good. But if the progression for both has stopped so that you can focus on your life, then say that it has stopped for the time being and give clarification on when this game would be continued in development. Like I've said, people don't want to be left in the dark, that's why me and the other two have commented about you and your game because we care about it, at least I care about it. You and Uramomo have a very good game here and it has potential, even if it's a demo.

The state of the world getting worse isn't rare to know about, current times are difficult indeed. I'm not saying to keep working on the game or I give up on this game period, it's when a game you were excited about and another game in the works that the dev said himself that it was half done (supposed to be done back in January according to the dev) but it has been delayed that for 5 months nothing is being said about the two games or anything. I did not want to have a mean and rude approach of when I said to give updates (which might have felt like it) this wasn't my intention, my intention was to basically say "what's going on with the games?" as in being confused that an update that I thought was this game and the new game being made it would becoming back soon (but it took longer than I expected for it to be) and that is why I have commented on this thread. I am still looking forward to this game, even if its going to be a long wait for it, I know it would be worth the wait.

Honestly, giving updates when you're barely working on a game is a damned if you do, damned if you don't. Personally, if I was in the dev's shoes, I wouldn't really want to apologize for lack of progress every other month. That sounds exhausting, especially if you're in a position where you have to work two jobs just to get by. Even if you give updates, you're only rewarded with people accusing you of lying, being lazy, or milking. You see it all the time in these forums.

I generally empathize with the devs because trying to be consistently have motivation is hard. Being creative is hard. Learning new shit is hard. A lot of effort and pain is spent just getting a demo of the game out. It's supposed to be your game, the one that you poured hundreds of hours into creating, but other people act entitled to it. They feel entitled to make demands. They feel entitled to criticize you for not having complex features or fast updates. It's a shitty feeling being insulted and being told that strangers are disappointed in to you because you didn't live up to their standards. Strangers that didn't contribute anything. It's a bit fucked up if you think about it.

They don't need to apologize, either way if this game comes out I'll play it and if they stay silent or decided to quit developing the game then that's fine with me. To give updates or not doesn't really matter to me anymore, why should I give criticism to someone that is working hard with two jobs that of course would make developing take more time and with being creative and learning code and scripting is difficult, it's understandable.

Playing the demo now and it's honestly pretty fun and I really like the art/animations. Hopefully it's finished in some way even if it's years from now, I can understand if it never does though with life and shit happening which makes it hard to spare the time for game development.

Glad you had fun.

The core idea behind the game is that I was a bit tired of seeing everything just be fantasy, and wanted to try to do something with a more unique setting and potential in the lore.

I also wanted to challenge myself on creating a gameplay system that was both Battlefuck and femdom focused.

Battlefuck as a concept goes both ways. The player has actions and the enemy has actions. Due to the fact that the player wins most encounters in battlefuck games, battlefuck inadvertently leans maledom in sexual content display. A lot of games try to pull the sexual leanings of their game in other directions in their own way though.

For Sex Machine. I thought... can I make a battlefuck game where even if you win, you still feel like you as the player were getting assaulted by hot ladies the entire time? Cause my sexuality is that I have a strong preference for femdom.
The solution I found was to abstract out player actions to be reactive to the enemy actions and to allow for multiple creampies before you lose.

The creampie finish every battle gives the feeling that you didn't really dom the girls, you just satisfied them enough that they leave you alone after.

I know that when it comes to game design popular elements from games usually get borrowed across games.

Like 62studios for instance.
Take their Succubus in Wonderland remake in comparison to the original game.

In the original game you cum when your life reaches 0 and that's game over. Everyone saw MGQ do it, and thought that's how it should be done. A few other games between that time said, you can have a system for multiple creampies if you just add another meter.

Succubus in Wonderland's remake and all games after then came up with a system where you have another meter to decide how close you are to game over and creampies just put you in a state where the enemies could attack that meter.

If Sex Machine is popular and affects the industry by breaking conventions I hope that more games that get developed after really think about what they want for their erotic content distribution.

I'm glad you chose to go the route of making a game that is battlefuck/femdom focused since I don't feel like I've seen too many other games use those elements the way you have.

Having the ability to experience the creampie whilst still winning felt really nice as whilst it is a game which requires it to have at least some kind of built in difficulty to it, it is also a porn game so I think finding a balance between the porn and game elements is important and I think you came up with a way of balancing both that felt really good.

It was one of the main things that made the game a lot more fun to play for me.

What I also liked was the combination of the skills, items and the multiple different meters. Those things along with the enemies also gaining random statuses (speeding up, healing for each incorrect guard etc.) each turn made the gameplay a lot of fun and made it feel less repetitive since they're wasn't just one specific strategy you use to win every time. I found myself using all of the skills and items pretty often rather than there just being one or two that were a lot better than the rest.

Also I couldn't not mention this but I thought having the save system and shop be in the form of Ordinna who gives credits in return for each cumshot was a lot of fun and I really can't remember another game that had a similar feature.

Yeah a lot of other games as you mentioned require the player to reach 0 health before experiencing the creampie which can sometimes be a little annoying since it feels as though you're being punished for trying to see the porn in the porn game. So I'm always glad to see when a game manages to balance the porn and gameplay just right.

I think it'd be nice if your game was able to have at least some impact on the industry since I think there's some unique and cool ideas on display here so if it has any influence at all on other future games that come out I think that'd be pretty neat.

He's out of line but he's not wrong
I think I responded reasonably to that post. Not gonna bring over the entire post here though cause it's long.
The fact that he's defending KC's mismanagement of MGE makes this rather ironic.
I defended KC's mismanagement?
Hunh?
I mean... quote me, or screenshot me on this one. I'm genuinely curious if I've ever even brought that topic up.

why this game got canceled? i look a lot of potential
The game isn't canceled, a staff looked at the game having no updates and wasn't completed so they put it as "Abandoned". This game is still being worked on (if you want proof, look in the discord server), it is just taking a while.

I'm in the discord. The dev hasn't posted any kind of indication that it's being worked on beyond 'trust me bro i'm busy'. Honestly the only part of this nonsense I care about at all is Uramomo's art rotting on Unsaid's hard drive because he can't get his shit together. If Uramomo would just post the art he's done in some other medium, I'd never look at this thread again.
