The first and only time I tried this out I almost had a heart attack. I was moving around the room trying to understand what the controls were since I dont have a Vive, I turned around and she was standing like 3 centimeters way from my face.. Apperantly she follows you around as you move around in the room..

Different controller settings would indeed be nice. The native layout makes it pretty much unplayable with the Valve Index, because "teleport" is bound to the palm press, meaning that resting your hand on the controller is a big no no, since holding it normally will send you to fly across the room like a maniac. I guess one could manually rebind controls for this specific game through the Index menu but that's quite the hassle.

The artstyle/character design is quite nice, but unfortunately I can't test much due to the controls being so hostile to my VR setup.

That was not a smart move and soon the poor benefit of this project will force him to realize the fact that he needs to create an alternate version for normal players.
Nah. Wont happen.

Speaking as a programmer. Its quite fun to work with VR. So, if hes making this project to enjoy himself, then he'll keep working on it. Despite the whining that comes from blueballed users.

Never understood why anyone would even make adult games ONLY FOR VR.

No-fucking-body has VR yet. We're talking LESS THAN one percent of us in here.
and i dont understand why you havent reuploaded your insult order patch yet, but I guess some mysteries will never be solved

Lots of people have VR headsets, but since you do not have one, you have not interacted with that community.
VR has become huge in the porn industry too.
There are massive amounts of VR porn videos that are so realistic that you find yourself actually trying to subconsciously grab boobs and kiss back and when ASMR is thrown in, it is mind blowing.

And the VR games blow away every 2D game ever made for their playability, realism and special effects.

No matter how much you enjoy yourself the moment your stomach start groaning you will know the mistake you make. We are talking about quite possibly not even 0.005% of all PC users and the 10% of those that plays erotic games on there VR devices, and only if you were lucky enough, you get about 10% of these 0.0005%'s attention on this game, and 70% of them probably wouldn't even pay any bucks for this. This is just ideal situations, there's still a lot of factors haven't been taking into account, after all the things here, there's still a lot of uncertainties, well, if having dinner is a problem for him at all, if not and he can just dedicate in whatever he wished to do regardless of how much money it makes, ignore what I just said.

Maybe we should just stop randomly assume stuff about the developers, such as whether or not their stomachs are groaning, and whether or not they code smut games as their main source of revenue. I would just let them work the way they want before telling them that their way of working is a terrible mistake.

I mean, it's their project, not ours. I'm sure they're big enough to figure out VR is more a niche market than a 2DCG game than can run on toasters and smartphones.

In the same vein, while I don't enjoy NTR myself, I'm not going to pop into thread of NTR-heavy games and tell NTRman that he could probably reach a wider audience by making the NTR optional in his game and potentially make more money.

Assuming he/she knows what they're doing, they'd be a lot further ahead with this project than they are if they were doing it full time.

So, instead of sitting there having a hate wank over a dev not bowing to your wishes, why dont you go out and do something productive?

Either way. I'm done with this topic. So far all I hear is "THEY NEED TO DO AS I SAY BECAUSE I WANT THEM TO!". If a proper response ever comes, then I might respond. But as it stands right now, it bores me.

I see what is happening here, you didn't understand correctly what I said at the very beginning, I did nothing more than simply described what the fact is about what could possibly and very likely to happen next, and wasn't even thinking about to let this dev follow what I want, how can I want someone to "bow to my wishes" if I don't wish it in the first place? and for the hating part, sorry to disappoint you but not even close. Anyway, It's partially my fault for the misunderstanding because it really did sound that way. But paying a thousand buck for a set of VR that I probably gonna spend like 2 hours a week to play on it is more of a necessity problem instead of capability, there's really not much games that's on it rn.

I didn't want him to make a alternate version for PC, I know that he IS going to make a alternate version for PC because he have to, if this is what he do for living, he needs to do that otherwise he may get starved to death.

Unless he lives in a proper country that takes care of its citizens.

All... If you don't have VR, don't look into VR games. It's pretty simple. Stop complaining about games that are VR only. VR has been around for a long while now, and has been gaining popularity the whole time. They aren't even that expensive anymore. Shut up, get over it and move on, or get a headset and enjoy the fun.

Specific to Valve Index users, I'm attaching a custom controller config for the index controllers:
-Moved teleport to the touchpad
-Grab/Interact is now on the grip
-Trigger is now Finger/Use (this is needed for buttons on the walls to open doors/turn on power)
-B button is TimeWarp (just seems to speed up time, no real use currently)
-A button is set to Console (also seems to have no use at the moment)

Note: I could only get the right hand to work. The left controller would not appear at all, but was still connected to the Index. TBH I didn't look into this very much.

View attachment system.generated.janas_max-win64-shipping.exe_knuckles.zip

Editted to add more information on controller settings:
By default, the controller bindings go into folder:
.\Users\{USERNAME}\Documents\steamvr\input

Once there, you should be able to locate them in game by navigating to the Configure Bindings menu and selecting a new config. The attached file should be named: "SexMAC--0-4-6--Custom--Index"

Nice job, thanks.

Sure thing xorger!

This was certainly not easy to track down. The custom controller files are located in the directory I mentioned previously ( .\Users\{USERNAME}\Documents\steamvr\input -- The '.' being your OS drive (Usually C))

From what I can gather, the files that begin steam.app.####, are the basic or default control schemes for your controllers. When you create custom controller schemes, it names them system.generated.{Name_Of_EXE}_knuckles.json
The fun part is, the name of the EXE for the game, may not be what you think it is. In this instance, the game is called Sex Machines, the EXE is called janas_max-win64 etcetera (default naming scheme from the publisher [it is a test build]).

Conveniently (sarcasm) NONE of these names is what the file is called inside the actual VR system. No no, that would be too simple. That name is buried within the json all the way at the bottom in a rather unceremonious 'name' field (picture below).

Hopefully all this helps!
