Thanks for keeping this game alive.

I come back 2 years after it was abandoned, hoping someone did exactly this.

For the mods updated for SR24; can you link them in your Extras? Like DSCS did for Shaky's. And maybe see if you can add this thread to DSCS's Extras; the version there is obsolete...

I can't for the life of me, find the "ZOM Bots" nor the "Fruit Bots"... The only time it was referenced it was you speaking of it in DSCS thread. Another website?
I tried to play without mods and the game had black pictures because it needed Daedalron Bots assets image. (Luna24)

So If this mod need others to work maybe a full version or links attached could be really cool.

Again, thank you. I never expected this game to still be alive.
Do you have Discord? There is a link on the first page of this thread to join discord, which has sections for both the old DSCS and current SR24 versions of the game.

Ah, this explains everything.
I didn't even think to search on Discord.

Thanks.
Make sure to check both the SR24 and DSCS mod sections. Almost all DSCS mods work but many bot mods need minor editing. There is an MS Word doc in the information folder explaining this. Cheers!

I have a question, how do you complete the mission Mob Protection? I have delivered 2 bots but no clue at all on how to complete that.

Keep delivering bots and eventually you will get an idea. Don't recall how many, but think maybe after 4 bots. If you can't do it right away, the option will eventually come back again.
Thx, I've continued playing and it's as you say, well, I'm up to day with the game, waiting next version.

Interesting thing, if I have multiple bedroom toys their stability seems to drop a lot down to quirky or unstable (all of them only have 1 role) compared to if I only have one bedroom toy (remains stable at 100%).

Never noticed, I'll check it out. Are you doing anything else with the bots? Training, sending on missions, whatever?

I looked at the code and I believe you're looking at random events and seeing a pattern that doesn't really exist. The decay calculation function is called once for each bedroom toy bot and there is no connection between calls. Also, a bot having other roles has no influence at all.

There is a strong randomizer in the decay function just like there are in gaining XP and receiving damage. Strong randomizers are used frequently in the game and all of them were written by Radnor for DSCS. They are not truly random, they are always heavily biased based upon the bot's status (rating, part ratings, skills, traits, damage, stability) and in some cases the MC's status (skills). The randomizers make it normal to do exactly the same thing with the same bot and get different outcomes. Each activity in the game has a significant luck component but since there's a lot of 'grind' in the game luck tends to even out. Think of it this way; if you roll the dice once luck is a huge factor but if you roll the dice 10,000 times the frequency of each outcome is predictable. This is how Las Vegas and insurance companies make their money.

It's quite fun to play, I wish the UI were more like a normal VN no small images and text.

I'm sorry, changing that would be a large amount of work and I probably won't ever do it.

Just in case you don't know this, if you click (tap) on any image it gets blown up to full screen (window) so you can see it better. After viewing it you can click (tap) anywhere and it reverts to the normal small image(s) and text. Also, if you ever want to see the background image without any of the normal stuff on top of it you can click on the name of the current location in the upper left corner (it's a button) and all text is removed showing the image only. Clicking (tapping) anywhere puts things back to normal.

I know these aren't really solutions but they are better than nothing.

Ok, at least now we know.
I knew that already, most of the time I just streamlined it, didn't even see the pics. xd
one more thing, the balance is a bit out of wack for AP point and selling stuff, I didn't feel good at after upgrade all the parts and then selling it. idk
maybe I'm wrong.
but, ty for the game. SeemsGood (y)

In this sort of game there is a lot of repetitive grind so you see the same pictures a lot which means you stop looking at them after a while. This isn't a "one handed" sort of game. In many cases I have a few alternative camera angles to make things a little bit more interesting but images are over half of my development time so I can't make too many options.

About the balance, there are a few different ways to sell bots. The random repair orders when you are working are low pay jobs but you gain reputation and XP for doing them. Don't waste great parts on them, these customers don't have a lot of money. At the flea market they pay more for decent bots but it's also not worth wasting great parts because the dealers there never pay what things are worth. Robosechs will buy sex trained bots and will pay a little more for them especially if they are well trained. People searching the grey net for parts and bots have more money to spend, this is where you can use great parts to increase the value of low rated bots. Some day (not implemented yet) you'll get opportunities to sell high end bots for high prices.

what is the best way to find mods for this game (is it still the
"Defective Sexbot Chop Shop [v0.4.1]"
thread?)

Ok, Noted.
But yeah, the grind is too much IMO, it wastes more time in the workshop than doing some other things.

Fixing + buffing one bot can take a few days, is kinda too much. the issue is not taking multiple day, but the AP part of things, its too repetitive. Maybe adjust the AP for one full day instead of repetitive "rest and reset" for each segment of the day. and give some notification or change some BG color for Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night etc. Most of the time we forgot about that.

Oh, I wish we could "interact" with the bot more fluidly, ie can jump between the bot more easily, atm we need to press "Done or spam back" to switch from bot to bot.

and parts are a bit confusing, I think we need some highlights for what the parts are, instead of only highlighting the names of the parts.

As the game progresses the time and AP to fix bots gets shorter for two reasons: you gain skill and you can have your bots do most of the work using roles.
Color and/or different background images for time of day is a good idea, I'll give it some thought. The workshop is indoors with almost no windows so it might be challenging for background images.
Switching between bots could be done better but I'm not sure I'm a good enough programmer to do it. No promises.
Not sure what you want in parts. As you increase the difficulty setting the game provides less information and expects you to remember things yourself. Play in 'Easy' mode and if you still want more information please ask again but be more specific about what you want.

Yes, but is kinda not enough I think, since we can have multiple bots. but maybe I didn't play long enough yet.

Just change the lighting color, ez tweak in PS, didn't need to render. xd
But yeah.

It's fine, np.

Ahh, got it. I play on easy too, so yeah.
What I mean is, when the player "browse the internet" for parts, it would be good to see Which one is which, is it "CPU" or other things at a glance.
Randomly scatter listing is hard to navigate as well. Maybe first is request for people want some bots at the top, people request parts, people selling their parts.

The browsing side of things I think is good if the game throws some quest (when people want to buy parts or bots)we could "accept" some request, instead of just people posting stuff and it is gone the next hour.
For example, give the player max of 3 requests for accepting bots listing, and 3 for parts or something.
So, the player feels the interaction more when playing, not just doing their things and selling stuff.
atm it's feels like "Ok, scavenge some parts and bots, buy the bots, upgrade the bots, and sell them."
