He was also walking a very thin legal line.

The only real potential was the potential millions he would lose if anyone of those companies decided he'd infringed on their IP and dry fucked him over a barrel as an example.

I know some people here don't quite grasp copyright and that's not really a big deal, it's a bitch but it does exist sadly.

I can't claim to know everything but I did study law for a few years. Not copyright law specifically, employment law was my jam then when I wanted to go all corporate before switching to a chef because .... well, fuck it was boring.

Anywhoo, we did touch on copyright law quite a bit and it's quite scary what some companies can do.

Claiming parody doesn't always work and no, being in different countries doesn't save you. Copyright law isn't global in the true sense but most countries have their own version and tend to abide dependent on the case. The Berne Convention is what most country are signed on with that protects copyright.
