Yes, although saying AI did everything wouldn't be fair. There's a lot of manual work involved in this game.
Do you apply the same scrutiny to companies like google which train their models on copyrighted IP? What I'm saying is your sentiment isn't necessarily incorrect, but low-end users of AI are hardly an egregious example.
Anyways like he said I'm sure there's also lots of manual image editing touchup required.

I doubt I can finish everything by next Friday. The Holidays and me going back to work put me behind schedule. Also the fact this update might turn out to be twice as big as Chapter 3 isn't helping either...

No offense to other devs, but Abyss is a literal work horse. The update rate is crazy!
Really hope they pace themselves. It's great for consumers short term, but if AbyssGames quits in a few months after burning out it would be terrible.
I don't want to speak for him but i can tell that he is getting quite bit of a help for renders. As for patreon members all support him emotionally, so i don't see him quitting.
That's good. Hopefully this remains sustainable for the creator. I've seen several creators have terrific output and motivation only to disappear or announce their exit. Like you say, Abyss seems to be getting decent help and seems to have eberything under control
