What moral value do these characters have? Are we supposed to believe Alice is an innocent girlfriend? Given this girl is a real person, and part of a wave in the culture, it is only easier to understand that fiction features such personalities and social behaviour. While I share your questioning of such phenomena, I am not sure what you mean abt the dev.
