Five years in development, my first time trying this game out.
The tutorial was enough for me to never want to touch this again. If you fail a level, there's no quick restart - you must select the mission and skip through all the dialogue and the loading screen. Over and over.
The control customization is semi broken. I changed everything to be local to WASD, but those changes don't apply to the GUI / menus. Just the racing, so I'm constantly swapping back and forth between arrow keys and WASD. Some keys just fail to be changed at all.
Handling feels bad. I know racing games take some time to get used to, but I feel horribly inconsistent with turning and power sliding.
Overall, I can see why this game thread only has ~10 pages after five years. Shady Corner has some pretty decent games, this is not one of them.
Can I ask a personal question? Why are you using a keyboard for a racing game? Do you play Mario Kart with a keyboard? No. Use a controller. Go buy one for like $30 at Walmart and then play the game. It's designed to be played with a controller. I've never had any of the issues that you speak of while using a controller. Sure, I get where Mouse + Keyboard might be useful for an FPS, a dungeon crawler, CRPG and such - but some games really DO benefit from a controller and this is coming from someone who only used a Mouse + Keyboard playing computer games back in the late nineties, early 00's. I swear I will never go back after playing with a controller for games like this.
Once again, there are a lot of games that are better played (especially on here) with just a mouse alone. But if you're torturing yourself trying to play a racing game with a keyboard, then that is your fault entirely. Please get with the times. Not every game requires your trusty keyboard.
Also, one more thing - you said "this thread has only less than ten pages."
Hmm... Maybe because it's only roughly an adult game and many here are not interested because they're looking for a quick fap? I've even debated this with people on social media. "It's just porn, if you want a real game, just go to steam."
Cue girl meme: "Why not both?
With Shady Corner, they are at least trying to do what companies like Alicesoft and Ninetail and other Japanese companies were doing for years - combine gameplay with adult content. Now I know some of you might still harbor some growing pains about this, but seeing as bigger games like Subverse and Wild Life are a part of this scene as well as many, many others, I think we're experiencing a Renaissance. And I'd be a fool not to talk about Treasure Of Nadia and The Genesis Order, other great adult games with just as much gameplay as anything you'll buy on Steam. Let me remind you of the old days. Should I start with how promising Bonetown was or are we going all the way back to Softporn Adventure? "We've come a long way, baby."
As far as I'm concerned, porn is everywhere right now. Everyone and their mother (and we can say that literally in all irony) has an Only Fans account. There are more people naked and getting it on digitally now than in any point in history. There's no shortage of pornography on the internet. So please, let some of us just enjoy this. There's nothing wrong with spicy gameplay. To me, it reminds me of old Heavy Metal Comic Magazines, where they were just spicy enough, but there were fun stories as well.
Yes, it is a grind. I hope they work on that. But I have to admit, I did place first in several races - and I suck at car racing games in general. So if I can do it, it can't be that bad. It's just not the fuckventure that some here are looking for which is fine - there are eighty million other games on this site for that. <3
