i was making a bit more toon art at one stage so i could sell characters on renderhub (latest one came out yesterday), but now i'm getting sick of all the shit that comes with it.

May I ask, what problems does renderhub cause you?

ah, renderhub doesn't. but renderosity did give me trouble.

i meant more broadly speaking. my characters weren't loli, or designed to be. but if you look at terms and conditions, most sites now regard toon AS loli regardless of the age of the character and treat it as such. renderosity explicitly states it.

it's dumb as fuck.

i just grew up loving tim burton and things like that, and wanted that whole "surreal" unrealistic horror vibe with lots of colour. toon characters suited what i was doing a lot more, i think. i love stylized art a lot, too. i'm one of those who think WoW looks good (and timeless).

i find it pretty offensive when i put up a character like this (exactly the character i was putting up on renderosity):


And being told she's loli so please censor her cleavage, remove nipple textures, and put her in clothes which are not revealing because she can't have exposed skin.

Like, come on.

I've also read "Worm" and "The Satanic Brides of Dracula"; "Nekomancer" is a noticeable step up.

I noticed you seem to be working on several books at a time. Where in the queue is a Nekomancer sequel?

I haven't started nekomancer sequel. I hadn't honestly had much feedback on it so wasn't sure if anyone liked it.

I sold, like 10 copies on amazon (seriously, that was it), and have only 6 supporters on Patreon from it. And a few of those peeps were there for the Shadow Realm books I wrote. I've only just started putting it up on WebNovel to see if it gets any traction on that site.

I've got a lot of things I'm working on, yah. Void Mage is the one I was focusing on, but I'm about to throw another on WebNovel because there's a competition and I want to enter it. I had a Dracula one, but it also wasn't doing so well. A shame, because I liked it. I have a feeling it was a little too slow, though, so i'm going to rewrite it and make the pacing faster.

I was so proud of The Satanic Brides when I wrote that. It's one of my favourites. I have a sequel already written. I have 10 or 11 complete books in the Shadow Realm already written, too. I'm just re-editing them slowly. Satanic Brides didn't sell either, though.

It's hard being me. Nothing seems to want to sell.

Maybe problem is lack of advertisements or a website that informs about all your works, though I follow your content, I can't even find these novels on Amazon or WebNovel.

i had a few things in the pan, but then itch banned everything (i'd been about to relaunch on there with a different name), steam banned the rest. subscribestar has started limiting NSFW and patreon's going on another purge and sent me more letters telling me to delete stuff.

on top of that, i have peeps messaging me for bestiality, scat, pillows on faces showing women suffocating and **. i mean, what do people think of me?

i'm down to my last 300 bucks, too, so i'm ummm. yeah.

i've been working in data analytics for 5 years and had to put a cv in for customer service jobs again because there's so much competition for data analytics now (lots of us got fired - i have 3 friends in the same boat, and one just took a job at a supermarket).

sorry for the rant.

it's been a shit month.

i still AM working on it, but i had to put a lot aside again while trying to make money in other ways.

When you are a developer in the taboo space people ask for all sorts of thing because they can’t find what they want and think you are good at making things. Not because you suggested you were interested in making it. Also I think you are amazing. Sorry to hear about the lay off.
