If I may, I would like to share my feelings about this prototype because it is more a prototype than a game at this stage (in my opinion, no offense), that’s why this message does not aim to criticize your game, but simply to highlight what could be improved for future releases.
First of all, regarding the gameplay, I will not elaborate much on the subject because there is not much to comment at the moment but I will join « gtdqrhm343 » on his comment : « the games made with RPGM where you and the enemy just fight and the skirmish goes on by just pushing the confirm button to make it fast » is not fun. It looks more like a « misery cache and a pretext » to activate some sex scenes, rather than making a « real game ».
Of course, I’m not asking you to develop the next AAA that must revolutionize the video game industry, but needless to say that even a porn video game… remains a video game ! So, I think there would be value to work on a gameplay loop a bit more sophisticated. Once again, nothing extraordinary, but something simple and effective would be already good enough. Typically, a simple rock-paper-scissors system for the main fight to raise TP, to be able to use sex skills that will activate just an image to illustrate the action would do the trick (for example : activating the « blowjob » skill will force the ennemy to blowjob the MC and a picture of it appears on the screen). That’s maybe not much but it could really make the difference between a good game and a basic one. All the more because you visibly master AI art generation.
And this is the second point I would like to address : AI art generation. Firstly, I want to precise that I’m not a detractor of AI to generate art. Without developing a thesis on the subject, I would summarize my thinking by these words : AI is an incredible tool that can have a terrible use. In this respect, I am a little divided towards your demo.
The thing is, I think you know how to create video with AI, especially compared to other porn videos with AI (yours seems more « natural/realistics », we feel less the « uncanny valley » aspect that might appear, because your animations are kinda smooth). So, I’m convince that your next game might have great potential.
BUT, I do understand critics made upon the AI use (not really to the form rather than the basis). What I mean is that you generally make great drawings/videos, but with some defects that could be redhibitory. Because even if some imperfections can be acceptables, some defaults leave me skeptical. For example :
- the woman at the left side of the screen, when she is wearing a black bodysuit, clearly doesn’t have the same haircut depending on the fact she is seen from face or from the profile (which is a shame considering that the idea of the character whose turning herself at the same time the MC moving is a good idea by itself – even though for now, I must admit I don’t see the point of it but maybe it will be clearer in the future updates) ;
- The mermaids do not have the same ears on scene 2 and scenes 1 (and 3 for the second mermaid) ;
- The Spider girl before the «NOT Rachnera the Spider » can be fuck in the ass… while she’s holding her spider abdomen (?!). Just writing it amuses me a little, I must admit it x)
- And worst of all, in my opinion : in the very first encounter with the PNJ at the left side of the screen in the beginning, the girl is fucked by a red monster/demon when you look in the mirror, but the POV show a man with a T-Shirt (a red demon dick and a red skin would have been more consistent). But/and beyond the evident inconsistancies of this scene, the biggest problem is that this scene is the very first scene that introduce your demo/prototype. I will be honest, I almost deleted your demo just after seeing this because I thought it wouldn’t be worth my time… but I’m glad I gave it a chance and I was able to see the other animations (which are mostly very good, except for the imperfection I underlined before). I have no hesitation in saying that there is potential and that you are capable of making an excellent game. But it is absolutely necessary that you pay attention to these elements which are easily perceptible by any player. Otherwise, you are necessarily going to receive criticism (which won’t be wrong on the basis) and your potential game will be completely relayed to the rank of « trash AI games »… which would be a shame and a real waste.
Once again, this message does not intend to criticize your demo shamelessly and, of course, this message is only my feeling and is in no way an obligation towards you. But I think it may be useful to highlight the elements that pose problems to avoid the repetition of these pitfalls in your future game.
In fine, one last piece of advice that occurs to me while I was writing this text : it may be relevant for you to focus more on the same scene during a victory after a fight and make that same scene result in a climax. It seems a better idea to me rather than to have several different scenes for the same enemy (one after the other) for two reasons :
1° As I was saying, your animations are good (with the exception of a few problems highlighted above) so you don’t necessarily need to chain several animations to « hide » the inconsistencies in gestures that usually occur when people use AI art. Your animations are pretty smooth so keep the focus on them ;
2° Having several different scenes for the same enemy (one after the other) creates a feeling of discomfort that strengthens the « AI art » effect. Let me explain with an example from cinema – which is worth what it is worth – with « the 30-degree rule » : it’s a fundamental guideline in film editing that ensures smooth transitions between shots of the same subject. It states that when moving the camera between shots, it should move at least 30 degrees relative to the subject to avoid the abrupt jump cut effect. This rule helps maintain continuity and narrative flow, preventing the audience from being jolted out of the story. What I’m trying to emphasize in the case of your demo is not the fact that there are breaks between each animation, but especially that it can be disturbing to have scenes that seem to unfold in different places (for example : the background completely changes sometimes from one scene to another, which accentuates the unnatural effect). I may state the obvious, but maybe you should focus on quality rather than quantity (especillay because I’m convince you’re able to do it !).
Finally, about the question of Rachnera the spider and copyright, let’s be clear : Copyright law is a legal framework extremely complex, especially concerning art with internet and « digital frontier ». So, to summarize the idea (without writing an endless novel) : you can use a character from another artwork when you respect legal use (like, citing the name of the original author or asking the permission to use his/her character), BUT :
1° Sometimes, you can « bypassing » the legal use rule thanks to parody rights or inspirationnal rights ; BUT :
2° These rules are depeding of the legal framework of every countries/or « union of countries » (and internet don’t really have a specic legal framework) ; AND :
3° When you are using a character from a specific artwork to include it in your own sexual artwork, there is a legal vacuum (kinda obscure because no one want to really legislate « pornography » with clear rules) ; AND :
4° This character Rachnera the spider is from the manga Monster musume no iru nichijō, which has some sexy scenes in it (so it’s hard to even tell if point 3° would apply in that case).
=> As you can see, it’s really complicated so my only advice to avoid any problems is to take most of the aspect of this character you like, but change some aspect of it (like change the eye color and/or the skin color) and it will be good enough (because Okayado – the author of Monster musume no iru nichijō – and with all due respect, do not have the monopoly on spider girls). Then, you will protect yourself for most of the critics saying « yOu Copied thIs » (most of it at least!).
That already a long message so I will stop here and wish you the best in your project ! I’m pretty sure you can do an amazing job if you polish a bit more some aspect of your demo for your future game and I can tell that I’m looking forward to see where these developments will lead !
