No need for log, the assert will be similar every time you encounter it.

It looks like some of your game files are from the old version 1.8, specifically the file 'achievements.rpy' (but maybe other files too). I can't really say how that happened. Anyway...

You can try:

1) I've attached the current correct 'achievements.rpy' file to this post, so you can try to put it into the 'ShardOfMySoul-1.11-pc/game' folder and see if it helps.

or, probably a better option:

2) Delete the whole game and install it from scratch (backup your 'ShardOfMySoul-1.11-pc/game/saves' folder first - saves are persisted on Windows, so you shouldn't need it - it's just a precaution).

Please go with option 2) if you don't mind downloading and extracting the whole game again. It should be a cleaner solution, because we don't know exactly what files are from an older version.

Thx Mate, that's a little strange as I just got that Laptop last week, installed a Linux on it and then your VN. So what I downloaded could not be older than a week. I guess I used the pixeldrain dl, as I always use that if available.

Is it possible for the MC to hook up with both Hanna and Theresa at the same time? Hanna love route was easy. Staying friendly with Hanna while going after Theresa (and Lexie) was easy enough to pull off. Could've sworn I read a tease somewhere that maybe you could have Theresa on the side or maybe with Hanna too if you made certain choices I haven't reproduced.

Possible I'm entirely making that up or it's part of the Patreon version of the game. Regardless, having fun and looking forward to more updates. Thanks.

A far as I know, and I have played the AVN several times from the beginning, no, these girls are best friends. You can only choose one. Hanna is like the "good girl" route of the AVN, she becomes the FMC's official girlfriend and locks you out from the other LI's.

Technically you can also break up with her afterwards which eases Theresa conscience to make a move on MC instead. So the lock out isn't necessarily permanent.

But simultaneous romance with Hanna and Theresa isn't really possible, yes. Beyond some small "accidents" here and there.

New feature for chapter 13: save names

Separate post, because I don't want to clutter the next post too much (which will be an early access post with chapter info and changelog). This feature will be available starting with version 1.12 (chapter 13).

The main issue was that while some players would like naming the saves, others don't need it and don't want to be bothered by an extra dialog. My solution is that the feature is optional, and you can turn it on in the Preferences menu:

By default, save names are disabled, so you have to identify them only by screenshot, date, time, chapter, and game day. After you enable them, you will get this dialog every time you are saving a game:

If you want to add a name to an older save, you need to open it and resave it.

Also, there is a default Ren'Py feature that allows you to rename tabs on save pages. You can do it just by clicking on the tab name:

PS: Chapter 13 is being developed on pace - early access on May 26, release on June 7.

Yeah, I feel I'm slowly getting better, maybe. I hope that if you compare character or erotic art from later chapters to early chapters, you'd find it mostly better, at least a tiny bit. But I don't want to spend time going back and improving it, so I'll probably just leave it as it is. I'd rather just move on and create new stuff.

Everyone will be thankful for that. There are quite some high profile VNs here that made people wait for half a year or longer because they did a complete overhaul of early scenes to new standard to bring it on Steam. While I appreciate if a dev shows the effort to improve, stalling the story progress to redo the beginning I am personally not a fan of.

Is there a guide or walkthrough for the different character paths? Didn't find anything on the OP or searching for 'guide' or 'walkthrough'.

With how much intricate branching there is, and specific events tied to specific location/activity choices, I find I keep missing important scenes with a given character because I chose something that doesn't show it. Then a chapter or two later, I notice something was missed and have to backtrack to try and figure out what chapter the decision was from, and at what point I made an incorrect choice.

URM can help with fixing a variable of a missed scene, but just flipping it means I never got to see the scene. And then there are the isb() functions that return TRUE or FALSE, that URM doesn't seem to be able to handle.
