2026 Development Plan
New year, new plans. I’ve put together a roadmap for 2026 so you can see where the journey of shards of Mirrors will lead in the coming year. As mentioned before, updates will focus mainly on adding new content. New modules will be developed in parallel and released whenever they are ready, alongside content updates—so no more delays in new releases due to coding difficulties.
Of course, it’s worth noting that nothing here is set in stone. Development priorities may change.
Update Schedule – New Content
0.0.6 – 01/02/2026
Start of the Seven Sisters questline. New characters, new battles.
0.0.7 – Mid February
Seven Sisters, Part II.
The questline is very long—six parts are already planned out story-wise in Excel (with one more planned), so it will take multiple releases to fully complete.
Banking system and currencies.
0.0.8 – Late March
Seven Sisters III.
Stock market investments. Forced default: lose your home(s) to pay off debt. Homeless mechanics.
0.0.9 – Late April
Graphics Update I.
There are many placeholder images in the game that I want to replace with DAZ art to create a unified visual style.
0.1.0 – 05/25/2026
1st Anniversary Update.
Something special.
0.1.1 – Mid July
Buck & La Zorra quest series continues.
Private investments: shops and workshops.
0.1.2 – Late August
Low-ranking jobs background quests.
Depending on your starting profession selected at character creation, each job group will have one questline attached to it. You will be able to complete your own group’s questline plus all higher-tier ones. Start as a manual worker and unlock all quests; start as a general and only the final questline will be available.
0.1.3 – Mid September
Seven Sisters IV.
Unit traits for combat.
0.1.4 – Late October
Seven Sisters V.
Hobo (homeless) background and questline (the hardest starting profession).
0.1.5 – Mid December
Seven Sisters VI.
Graphics Update II. The interface will also receive an upgrade, replacing the black background with something more visually appealing.
0.1.6 – Early January 2027
Seven Sisters VII.
Farmer background and the Farmhouse (new home).
New Modules
Interactions I
Interactions between the main character and hired heroes. The buttons already exist in the character interaction menu, but currently provide mostly flavor text. This module will allow you to improve stats, train and learn from your heroes, uncover unique secrets, and hear rumors that may lead to hidden questlines.
Hero Traits
Pre-set and random traits for heroes, resulting in distinct and unique characters. Based on your quest choices and behavior, heroes may also develop new traits over time.
News Engine
At the end of each day, you will receive newspapers from different factions. Instead of a straightforward list of events, you’ll read biased reports and form your own opinions. This will make the world feel more alive: some news will depend on your actions and choices. It also provides a strong lore-building tool, a way to hint at secret questlines, and a method to advertise locations you may not have discovered yet on the map.
Interactions II
Interactions between heroes themselves. Some will like each other, some won’t—depending on their personalities. Heroes will form friendships, rivalries, and romances, and may even engage in revenge, treachery, or murder. At times, you’ll be drawn into these conflicts and forced to decide. The goal is a dynamic world where heroes act independently, driven by their own traits and motivations, rather than serving as static additions to an ever-growing digital doll collection.
Design Philosophy
My aim is to create a game that can be replayed countless times, offering different stories each run, while remaining as realistic as possible within the game’s lore.
My current and planned tools to achieve this are:
1, Choice-based questline system
2, Dynamic character interactions
3, Multiple starting settings for both the character and the world
4, News-driven political events
5, Chance-based faction engine
Do you have an idea I could add to this list? Let me know—and see you soon with v0.0.6!
