Please don't let the story end here. Shattered is practically the only halfway decently written story in this genre.

It was a pretty generic 4Tb M2 SSD by XPG.
A lot of people seem to overestimate my capabilities. I never had enough money to buy another 4 Tb just for backups, and due to how messy Daz's file structure is, I can't simply separate the important assets from the unimportant ones.
I do have some presets saved, but they won't work without the associated data files, and there's almost no way to find out what exactly you need. If you load a preset like that, it will simply give you a list of missing files. Do whatever.

I did what I could so far. I found the guy to restore the data, I paid him the insane amount of money he asked for (I was saving that for the new computer, but it doesn't matter now), and now I have to wait until I get another SSD with the restored data back. He did say that ~30% of all files was impossible to extract, as for the rest: only I can test if it's good or not. It could be completely broken. We'll see.

For everyone else, thank you for your words of support. They mean a lot for me.

Dang, I'm really sorry for what happened to you, I wish you all the best, and I hope you will be able to recover as much as you can.

I know this may sound backwards - but couldn't you get a 4TB Seagate or something for under $100 and back up the SSDD to that? Beats the alternative of potentially losing the data again! (just a thought...)

Exactly! Just a couple of spinners, some good cloning software and a disk docking station will do the trick. First backup and restoring from such a backup will be annoyingly slow, but that pales in comparison to the nightmare of losing costly data.

Did he promised you anything about the 70% he can restore? Hope you can sort some of this mess, considering the huge amount of money you had to spend on it. :)

That’s exactly what I was planning to do after v0.15. If only my SSD could survive another week.

No promises. Just that the files are physically there.

what is the best hetero route with the most content? anal play is fine but as little blake/male gay content and as much blake/female or blake/trans content as possible.

If/when you get the data back, you should backup the stuff on a cloud service like Microsoft Onedrive. They have a $99 per year plan that allows 6TB of storage. You can probably stick the entire Daz content library on there.

The closest you have to vanilla route is with Iris. Blake actually uses his dick with her, and she's not interested in pegging.
Aside from her, it's Bree/Melinda/Vanessa in the order of diminishing femdom content, and Suya if you want a trans girl.

Uploading speed is the issue here. I'd probably need at least a week to upload my files.

Jeez what a news. Damn.

I once formatted hard-drive to reinstall Windows and forgot to back-up my sister’s graduation thesis (we were students and we had shared PC). In fact, I had no idea she stored it there. I still have shivers down my spine recalling her cries for hours. PTSD almost.

My condolences, Yeda.

P.S. I'll refrain from stupid unasked advices how to protect your data. I’m sure you know best yourself.

I would not go the route to setup a big Software (via the Motherboard) SSD Raid 1 to work on.
I bought a 12TB WD NAS (EX2 Ultra) for ~300€ and have it run in Raid 1. Next setup automatic backup once a week and you are save. A Synology NAS would give you better Software options and depending on the price more processing power (more options /usability) but it all depends on the price.
To save some money you could get yourself a DAS instead of a NAS. But i would at least get a 2 bay version that is capable of Raid 1 to get more reliability. And do not get cheap Consumer HDDs. You can get very good deals on (for example) Toshiba MG06ACA 6 TB HDDs that should run for a long long time and give you more bang for your buck.
Also depending on the finances there are way better options for fast storage (as your main working SSD).
Consumer SSDs do not have Power Loss Protection and do have a ~10x higher bit error ratio.
To save some money you could get a smaller Enterprice SSD paired with a Toshiba HDD and then setup Primochage. Gives you a fast and responsive system but a lot more storage space compared to a big expensive SSD.
All depending on price and what you want/need.

Hope you can get your most important Data back and (now some selfish thoughts) that you continue working on the project
If i can give any tips or help regarding Storage options please ask.
