In modding this game I found out a little curious thing about that.
Daji's attack and defense stats (along with magic attack and magic defense) are on the 200s, Hyakki's are on the 600s or 700s. Also she takes only like 20% of physical and magic damage.
Is it also important to mention that she always moves TWICE AND has a 50% chance to move again? I'm honestly baffled she's not immune to bleed, but I guess the only way to not bleed as a Shrift demon is to fight genocide Kazuya as he's about to exit the shelter, while being sure to give him a pretty half baked fight despite the fact that your life is on the line, and make sure to blast awesome music at him to distract the player (canon fact!!!1!).

If you're talking about me with the jab thing and me being a "dick", that's not me being a "dick", me being a dick would be me saying, he completely shit all over genocide players (or much worse), I said jab, because he didn't go fully in on them, just a slight jab at the severity of it and how bad it is. (lore reasons).
Tons of what Mr. Cofman has been saying has mostly been joking too man, it's not that deep.
Also, the creator was banning people for discussing genocide at a point, and hyakki's stats were also buffed as of the 7.02 or so patch.
I think you need to take a chill pill and not be so overly defensive, passionate or not, especially when said things being discussed were super lighthearted in comparison to tons of other stuff I've seen in this thread over the years about this game.
I'm not going further into this discussion, because if the creator's whole intent was to have the game played a certain way, then design it that way to begin with, don't give freedom of choice over something, then take it away because people were choosing something more than the other.
I've said several times I really like the game a lot, the main thing that makes me mad about it is the rng with the a.i. and how you have to damn near get a perfect run or just really lucky with what moves the a.i. does, it should be designed to not do the same move 3 times at the bare minimum.
He's improved that in the 2nd one, along with the art/animation. Unfortunately, the story's a bit weaker compared to the 1st, but the combat's improved as well.
Also here you go, this person may have changed their stance and calmed down since:
Okay yeah part of that is on me, I probably should've clarified my dick comment was to the people who in general directly harassed Alan. My wording was poor.
And Im not angry, Im not pissed about this. and SHRIFT isnt my favorite game(though its a decent contender). You've said it yourself, this forum thread has been some of the most aggressive arguing I've seen over a game in a while. And the debates get heated, I've only taken part in one and then ended it nice and peacefully. But the discussions surrounding it not as much.
Forgive me for overestimating how much hatred you guys were putting into your critique. But my 'exhibits'(honestly random choice to name them that) were just fact correction, which I guess is the definition of an um actually... but really those are the facts. At the end of the day, I can't directly change how you feel about the game. Even if you agreed with everything I said, your experience with the game will still have been the way it was. I'm glad you feel positively about the game yourself, but I'm very used to people disregarding anything I can say and continuing to hate on the game as is.
Also about your suicidal comments on the difficulty, if you think that RNG is bad, try handgun only(im dying inside)
About exhibit A, Kazuya almost killed humans just to protect himself and there is nothing wrong with that, since they wanted to kill him in a first place. Though Kazuya becomes unstable with time, his friends and lover make it worse by betraying him.
Exhibit B. Hmm... Tell me that shooting your friend with a bullet that can kill him instead of the one that would make him fall unconscious is not a betrayal. I hope you are joking.
Exhibit C. Well, that's both mind-blowing and pain in the ass. Imagine all that hard work to obtain a knife just for it to be revealed as useless...
Exhibit D. I did reopen the game a few times but didn't notice any change, even waited a few minutes.
...fucking hell, now I feel like I was 1 reopen away from it. FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! Now I have to kill everyone again~
Regardless, genocide route is disappointing, since genocide Kazuya looks a lot more cool in DLC (I just call EX as DLC) I played before, about a crossover from different games. I thought he would be cool here too, but... meep.
A: Even with the MOW guards, yes, theres justification, but if you tried to say "Your Honor, my girlfriend betrayed my trust earlier so I killed her while she was defenseless", it wouldnt hold up in court. The downwards slope is only really completely not justifiable right before the Hyakki fight. Hence why I called it a slope.
Not related really to the point but what makes this specific mow guard aspect really interesting is the complete disparity. Kazuya considers even the lives of the guards that tried to take his life valuable when speaking to Nina, but in Genocide does.. what he does. Simply put, no reason exists for him to have such a separate behavior. It really does lend itself to EX4's plot.. before EX4.
B: Demon Rounds didnt exist prior to the game's events, and Micah, doesnt really count because unlike Yuuma she knows what Kazuy's got in him and unlike Reina she doesnt love him enough to risk the entire universe and unlike both of them, was already willing to kill him due to her own affiliation with MOW.
C: People keep bringing up this knife and locket, as far as I'm aware these are mod items? Maybe the knife does exist but the locket didnt exist for me, and I see a mod file in the download here that literally adds it in?
D: Rip man, sorry you find Genocide Route disappointing. But you wouldn't be the first person to come from Paradox's collab and disagree with Kazuya's original portrayal. In the end this is the guy he was in Paradox too.
If I remember correctly, Hyakki not being resistant to bleed isn't exclusive to her. Pretty sure some enemies are only resistant to stun, but most status effects enemies inflict can be inflicted back to them if you give Kazuya skills that can inflict them via cheating. Also, have fun with using the Barghest Paw to make her bleed, pretty sure that's a 10% chance (idk about the knife, think I never found it...?), and she constantly deals a crap ton of damage while forcing you to be on Suicidal (hard) lol.
Huh, thats genuinely odd. I could've sworn I'd never gotten a bleed proc on other enemies, and I swore I had checked these resistances myself in confusion at that. Isnt that wacky? Regardless, the Barghest Paw strat does work. You basically use the same strat as the empuse scythe one, but with decent luck you can finish the fight in like ten minutes.
Cool of you guys to find things that I didnt know, here I was thinking technically speaking I knew all there was about shrift
now somebody explain why Aconitum gets to be so fucking fast
This game gets more and more "Undertale" the more I think about it. My most recent revalation- Reaching one of the "Extreme" endings permanantly alters the other "Extreme" (In Undertale, that's turning Pacifist in Soulless Pacifist. Here, it's turning Genocide into No Mercy. Though I don't know what the difference is other than the latter presumably having less actual first degree murder.)
C: People keep bringing up this knife and locket, as far as I'm aware these are mod items? Maybe the knife does exist but the locket didnt exist for me, and I see a mod file in the download here that literally adds it in?
As far as I remember the Knife is real, and you craft it by combining every (or almost every) genocide weapon into one. Locket is modded, you craft it by combining every (or almost every) genocide accessory into one.

Hmm... Kazuya does become merciless in genocide route, marking everything as an obstacle between him and his friends, but I don't see a problem in his actions, as long as everything tries to kill him. Even the ones he trusted, used old bullets against him. After that I feel like he just gave up and completely submitted to Intervener and The Old One. Can't blame him for everything that happened afterwards. All of that wouldn't happen if YOU didn't choose to kill.

Look at this from a different perspective. Don't you think it is strange that Reina and Yumma came together in time after Micah injured Kazuya? They were just waiting in shadows, using Micah as a bait. She was dead anyway, controlled by camazots or whatever it is. Yumma is basically dead too, gobbled up by Daji, which only imitated his behavior, and Reina seemed to be on their side anyway, since she was just watching her lover almost killed and left him to his devices after. Fuck her, fuck all of them.
C: People keep bringing up this knife and locket, as far as I'm aware these are mod items? Maybe the knife does exist but the locket didnt exist for me, and I see a mod file in the download here that literally adds it in?
I don't know if it's added by a mod, I'm just using the latest version of the game from this website. You need to get every item from gargoyle statue in Hell and combine them on a workbench before the battle with Hyakki, but I'm not sure if you can get all items without cheating, since only some bosses, lampas and barghests give you enough material, but everyone else are stuck at 8-9 material (you need 10), depending on a difficulty.
D: Rip man, sorry you find Genocide Route disappointing. But you wouldn't be the first person to come from Paradox's collab and disagree with Kazuya's original portrayal. In the end this is the guy he was in Paradox too.
In paradox collab Kazuya(The Old One) effectively destroys everything on his way, even the space itself, but when we are playing as him in the actual game... it's not nearly as impressive.
That's why I'm disappointed.
Hmm... even the fight with Hyakki is weird. Neither Kazuya nor she is fighting seriously, as if both of them know it being pointless...
(Maybe in post genocide something will be different? Gonna check...)
Hmm... the genocide route is unavailable after you achieve it, and nothing much changes in the game, except Eco being scared and cats too, while Hyakki watching you on the exit from the lab.
Meh...
I wonder if something will change if you continue killing everyone you can on the further cycles, but it's so boring... *sigh*
...hmm, guess I should play true mercy then :'(
I was expecting Hyakki at least evacuating everyone from the next cycles but... perhaps I'm expecting too much.
I know this is offtopic, but is there a way to edit the gajinizer i need to translate to spanish for a friend, because the spanish version that is in this forum SUCC hard. I already tried to edit that version of the game but it doesnt apply besides is more easy if i just need to translate the text and not run through events in rpgmvxace UI.

Eh, off topic is a stretch. That being said, you'd be better off asking somebody from the translation team for the game. They've got a small discord server you should be able to find.
They haven't even fully translated this game, the extra stories aren't fully translated, and the medal you get for beating hardmode and giving to the demons isn't translated as well.
I'd love to have the extra stories translated, not too worried about the hardmode medal to be "praised" stuff translated, would still be nice for it to be fully translated.

If I recall correctly, Im pretty sure they're waiting for Black Fox to translate that and any other less important stuff. Focusing on other projects like SHRIFT II and Dreamland in the meantime.

Question: I saw someone mention to not use a Genocide route file for a NG+. Why?
Did a neutral run so I could do Gen route. Something got messed up and I had to reinstall and use debug to get to Gen route after already playing half way through the game again. The whole process ended up meaning I've seen Chapter 1 more than 3 times in a very short time and I'm getting burnt out. Coupled with that I didn't know the way I've been playing would mean no NG+ bonuses yet which kinda hampers the appeal of going through multiple routes.
So I'm debating on whether doing other routes or going straight to TM but if there are anymore hiccups I'm going to have to throw in the towel either way. Should I use the gen code before continuing? Are there consequences for playing on a file with Gen flags?
Beating Hyakki was not cathartic. Since you can't even beat her.

NG+ Bonuses as far as I'm aware are in direct correlation with demon bonds. So even if Genocide could give you any, it doesn't have any. Without spoiling them because they're pretty fun to see, they tend to appear after a neutral run and make getting any remaining bonds you didnt have for TM much easier.
Generally speaking, if you've already done Genocide, then you've already seen most of the routes. Neutral has some variance but its just Genocide, the Neutral Variants, Mercy variants, and True Mercy. So just play neutral again, I'd recommend keeping the genocide aftereffects for that first new neutral run, I think they're pretty cool. If its really burning you out though, I'd recommend just stepping away. Chapter 1 so many times back to back can feel like a bit of a chore by nature.
Hi, I have a question. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this error? I've been trying to fix it, but nothing works.
The error occurs in the EX4 story section, in the multiverse area where you fight Vasilica. When I defeat her and interact with the door to advance to the next floor, I get this graphics error. I've already tried uninstalling and redownloading the game, but it really doesn't work, and there's nothing else I can do other than ask on this forum.

After first run I spent a WHILE trying to find any info about NG+ because I wanted to keep my items and gold. Gen route is so cursed. Next run I'm going to debug in all my gen route gains by memory. I didn't even get to enjoy the impure fan because as soon as you get it it's basically useless. But yeah I'll probably do that seeing as how TM means I'll be donezo with this game.

I'm just guessing but did you change your system locale to Japan in settings or by using the locale emulator linked in OP? If you haven't it's worth a try until someone else responds. Also, I've seen mentions in this post here and there about issues with EX4. Including a comment with a collection of fixes for various issues. I'd link to the comments but I'm too lazy. If you feel like slogging through the post you might find a solution. I'd start by going backwards, pretty sure those EX4 comments are more recent so you shouldn't have to scour the whole thread.

I have the regional settings set to Japanese, as I have them for other games like The Three Charms, which I was playing. I had found things in the thread and started trying to fix it with that, but I'm going to try other things to see if it works.

Hmm... if the game says that the file is missing... then make the game find that file!
Just make a file with a missing name. You can copy any (image?) file from that folder and rename it as the missing one (better pick the one that associated with the character you are dealing with or fuck it and use completely black image).
It won't look beautiful, but it works, though if I remember correctly, another error regarding a different missing file will occur, so good luck fixing that as well.
