Hmm... Kazuya does become merciless in genocide route, marking everything as an obstacle between him and his friends, but I don't see a problem in his actions, as long as everything tries to kill him. Even the ones he trusted, used old bullets against him. After that I feel like he just gave up and completely submitted to Intervener and The Old One. Can't blame him for everything that happened afterwards. All of that wouldn't happen if YOU didn't choose to kill.A: Even with the MOW guards, yes, theres justification, but if you tried to say "Your Honor, my girlfriend betrayed my trust earlier so I killed her while she was defenseless", it wouldnt hold up in court. The downwards slope is only really completely not justifiable right before the Hyakki fight. Hence why I called it a slope.
Not related really to the point but what makes this specific mow guard aspect really interesting is the complete disparity. Kazuya considers even the lives of the guards that tried to take his life valuable when speaking to Nina, but in Genocide does.. what he does. Simply put, no reason exists for him to have such a separate behavior. It really does lend itself to EX4's plot.. before EX4.
Look at this from a different perspective. Don't you think it is strange that Reina and Yumma came together in time after Micah injured Kazuya? They were just waiting in shadows, using Micah as a bait. She was dead anyway, controlled by camazots or whatever it is. Yumma is basically dead too, gobbled up by Daji, which only imitated his behavior, and Reina seemed to be on their side anyway, since she was just watching her lover almost killed and left him to his devices after. Fuck her, fuck all of them.B: Demon Rounds didnt exist prior to the game's events, and Micah, doesnt really count because unlike Yuuma she knows what Kazuy's got in him and unlike Reina she doesnt love him enough to risk the entire universe and unlike both of them, was already willing to kill him due to her own affiliation with MOW
I don't know if it's added by a mod, I'm just using the latest version of the game from this website. You need to get every item from gargoyle statue in Hell and combine them on a workbench before the battle with Hyakki, but I'm not sure if you can get all items without cheating, since only some bosses, lampas and barghests give you enough material, but everyone else are stuck at 8-9 material (you need 10), depending on a difficulty.C: People keep bringing up this knife and locket, as far as I'm aware these are mod items? Maybe the knife does exist but the locket didnt exist for me, and I see a mod file in the download here that literally adds it in?
In paradox collab Kazuya(The Old One) effectively destroys everything on his way, even the space itself, but when we are playing as him in the actual game... it's not nearly as impressive.D: Rip man, sorry you find Genocide Route disappointing. But you wouldn't be the first person to come from Paradox's collab and disagree with Kazuya's original portrayal. In the end this is the guy he was in Paradox too.
That's why I'm disappointed.
Hmm... even the fight with Hyakki is weird. Neither Kazuya nor she is fighting seriously, as if both of them know it being pointless...
(Maybe in post genocide something will be different? Gonna check...)
