The question is what kind of harem ending.

The developer in his first game (Space Paws) added a "Harem" route, but it was mostly a bonus orgy scene at the end with a few lines after. There isn't much writing or plot behind the "Harem" part of the game; you just get a few lines where the girls all come together and surprise the MC by saying they all learned the MC was dating other girls, and the agree to all fuck in the room. You can tell the writer never really took the "harem route" seriously, and it was mostly an lightly-written afterthought.

The MC in that game can have multiple monogamous relationships with multiple girls (the girls don't know about MC dating other girls), then when you have a perfect relationship with all separate girls, the game lets you have an orgy scene with everyone as a treat.

I am expecting a similar thing to happen in this game. The author in this game is currently writing each girls' routes as if it's a very romantic and monogamous relationship, with not a single hint of a harem. Then at the end, BAM the author will let you have an orgy scene if you got a perfect relationship with all the girls- as a treat.

Mushoku Tensei is imo the perfect example of how to develop properly a harem.
And they exactly did the same. Get very close with a few girls and just doesn't been able to only choose one of them.
Which is a better harem ending in your opinion? I feel im missing something.

Really? I thought that you could only choose catgirl rebel or deergirl priest or none in one of the nations, which 100% locks you out of 1 (or 2) main girls - thereby harem ending impossible??

Or are catgirl and deergirl not main girls? Kinda confused cause I thought devs implied that they'd both get as much content as other main girls, despite the fact you cant get both. And their game mechanics are indistiguishable from other main girls

ALso, i guess a harem of side girls could work? That was one of the endings of Space Paws anyways, where pandagirl and Maya (foxgirl) and geniegirl and the like decided to form a harem for MC

I see your point. The individual routes were well written and the harem endings probably were a bonus because of popular acclaim.
I don't think Taifun was thinking on a harem route when started developing the game.
But that now makes me wonder if in Shuggerlain it will be different then, because they already know fans want harem endings.

To me, any harem route is always an extra. It's not realistic in any way, just fan service. But in my opinion, you can't really ask for something super deep and romantic when it comes to an orgy. It is what it is.
Btw I still have to play the new version, let's see if I have some free time soon. Also, it's NNN guys, we shouldn't be here! (jk, I don't do that)

I think we are on the same page here. Taifun thought about giving us a Harem treat way later in development after he completed most of the game. Space Paws was already a great game before the Harem ending; the Harem ending was an excellent bonus and I loved it as a bonus ending. If I wasn't a fan of the Harem bonus, I wouldn't be here being a fan of Shuggerlain.

I am almost certain Taifun will have a harem ending in Shuggerlain. However, if my memory is correct, so far each girl's story is written to be exclusive and monogamous (except Dynae and the demon girl who lets him fuck around). This is just like what happened in Space Paws.

Anyways, the important difference between Space Paws and Shuggerlain is that in Shuggerlain there is a built-in legit excuse in the plot for a harem (Nulkan's corruption forces him to fuck a lot of girls because it gives him an irresistible lust that can't be stopped). Even Dynae (basically the "main girl" of the story) lets Nulkan have relationships with other girls due to neccessity. Also it was accepted and normal for the previous emperor to fuck a lot of girls, which Nulkan (the next emperor) will likely do too.

hello, i have never played this game, but it looks pretty good and i dig the description, but can someone say if all heroines are cookie cutters aka. same character, same speed of progression, same level of obedience or however you call it, basically what i want to know is every girl same crazy way into you for no real reason as in typical harem game, or we have some ACTUAL character developments with deeper dialogues , more personality maybe some being very incompatible with others, its fine if some girls are braindead, but question is if every is?

Each girl is very different with different personalities, back stories and motivations. You also do different quests/activities with each character. The story and dialogue is something you won't have to worry about here; it's one of the better parts of the game, and definitely better written than a good number of porn games. Anyways for "speed of progression," yes they are the same. Your relationship levels up in fixed "levels" which you gain by doing activities that are worth the same points for all characters. But besides that, the dialogue, story for each girl, and the dates you have with them are very different and unique. Definitely not "cookie cutter"
