Thank you for your comment. But if you'd played the game instead of sticking to the comments your opinion might make sense. I understand you're debating ghosts. The game is in development, I'm listening to criticism and suggestions to improve the work. The game doesn't have the content you mention and the scenes that gave you this impression have been removed, rewritten and replaced. The game has no pay wall. It does have a small amount of exclusive content, which is only fair, since people who pay deserve a little more than those who have access for free.
OK, I felt bad after having made a post about a game that I didn't actually play, and basing that post on other post in the thread. That is after I got multiple upvotes, but was assured by the dev that the information I was basing my post on was wrong. So I decided it was only right that I play the current version of the game from beginning to end. So I did. I also read every post in the thread to see how others were interpreting the game.
Overall the conclusions I drew in my original post are actually accurate (the tags are wrong, and I still stand by my statements about your approach to monetization), but it was likely still a mistake to make a post about it without first hand experience. It just feels like a lot of devs don't respect other peoples time, and will mislabel their games (or leave off tags) in order to appeal to a wider audience. Then you just get blindsided by content you don't want after already investing your time. To me that feels very dishonest and so I wanted to advise you against making the same mistakes as it can break trust.
Now that I did take the time to play the game, and to read the whole thread, I might as well offer you some feedback.
1. Grammar and Writing - There were many instances of using "He/Him" were it should have been "She/Her". Some of the dialogue includes the speaker in the dialogue. The overall writing is rather "Wordy", and while that isn't technically wrong you might consider areas where you could cut back to help with pacing. Overall you should look into getting some proofreaders, and possibly an editor (or someone willing to help you edit).
2. Technical Advice - I've listed a number of "mistakes" in the game, and included some things that are "suggestions" for improving the game.
Mistakes - Mislabeled characters, Wrong Images, and the like were present throughout.
Suggestions - As for the videos I think it would be best/nice if you added a way to make them full screen and to make it possible to tell how much time remains before they loop (with the ability to replay parts). You also, might consider braking up longer videos, and distributing them throughout the passage. This way you aren't just watching a video, and then reading about what you just watched. Instead you are reading about what is happening in the video on screen.
We could really use Character Name in the Character Stats section (the role would be a nice addition as well).
I also believe the browser pop ups for relationship changes should display which relationship is changing (for clarity).
3. Observations/Responses to other Post - So, the big three I see are "Mislabeled/Missing Tag", "Wordy", and "No real choices/Choices don't matter".
I already addressed the "Wordy" issue, and you included the "Text Based" tag so you should be in the clear.
The "No real choices/Choices don't matter" thing seems pretty valid as of now (you have only a few times where you are choosing between one scene or another, and they only seem to affect relationship points (which haven't come into play yet...as far as I can tell)). Otherwise it seems to just lead to the same place either way. Now, what I will say is that isn't inherently "Wrong" if you have a story you want to tell, and don't want to leave the choices up to the players. Although, in that case you should consider the "Kinetic Novel" tag. This will let player's know that it is more about the story, and there will be little to no choices. Of course, maybe you intend to make the relationship points matter later, and so while the choices won't really affect the overall story they may affect the choices you have later.
The "Mislabeled/Missing Tag" complaints are accurate so it is really just up to you whether you fix the tags, or decide to continue to mislead the people here on this forum.
I know this a long post, and it is only one persons take on things, so do with the information what you will. Good luck!
