I've noticed that some of the comments on the DLSite are really abysmal. I mean, developing a game just takes a long time, especially when I consider that some animations have 100+ sprites. You have to draw them all first to make sure they're right. And yet I often read impatient comments like "when next demo" or "I thought you were making a game and not gifs". I even read "500 yen support is expensive for just a gif". So I'm the only one here who thinks that we don't need a new demo every month or something. This game in particular shouldn't be rushed, as it looks really promising. Besides, I get the feeling from most of the comments that they just want the next demo as jerk-off material. Some of the things I'm reading are really crap, and there should be more commendable support, so guys go there and write sth with substance... 500 yen... what's that here in Germany, maybe 3 euros. There are so many stupid people.

Welp, it's better off to mutter bullshit more than to think what it takes to do it. Easier to say than do; and that's an issue many artists face. Criticizing without a true underlying reason — if it -should- be to help the artist behind, then provide actual feedback and tips instead of destructive comments.
Also, that's just how japanese people are imo. Most asians want perfection. That's why suicide rates are so high in Asia.

Didn't expect to meet a fellow German.
Anyway, a little under 3€, which is why I usually pay 1k yen if they have it as an option.
At least my broke ass can afford that XD

If you are to believe the Asian parents meme then I can understand why they would be high.
Always under a lot of pressure, almost constantly, it shouldn't be a surprise people easily break under that.
The fear of being disowned by your family or bringing shame over it is also a big factor for them.
And even if it is not that extreme on that front there is still the fact that they are very strickt.
With ever generation after generation brainwashing themselves I doubt they will ever get over being perfectionists.
Still I wish all of them well and hope they can find the strength to pull through and overcome their struggles instead of testing out gravity.

The creator should not rush and make the game calmly. Otherwise he will burn out.
There are like thousands of jack-off worthy games out there. The guy deserves some slack so that he can make what he wants as he wants to. At least we know for sure that the game is not vaporware.
Is the creator posting another update for this month or is it the July 28? Since they usually post by the last day of each month

I saw this game from a discord sever i'm on, and was wondering if it was available for purchase. But turns out i can only find the supporter site of it.
So natually i wanted to get more info about it, but the people i talked on discord only knew about the support site.
Dont really want to pay a subscribtion of it if i could buy the game directly, but the Dlsite store page does not have it there, so im a bit sad i could not get

that's because the game is not finished yet, and it's on artist's subscription as a way to support him and follow the progress.
You can always try the trial first, it's pretty good already.

At least they are making gifs. Some devs don't give anything except meaningless dev logs while milking their subscribers.
They probably also have a day job. While they do want to make money off of the game it probably isn't their main source of revenue. I doubt someone with a full time job can code AND draw the pixel art in a comfortable schedule. I just hope they don't get discouraged by the negative comments.

Well, actually it turns out to be a scam because you spend money and want to get a GAME, but in fact you get a set of GIFs -_-
And I don't know of any developer from your description who would do something like that. Yes, a game can be delayed for half a year or a year, releasing terrible updates, but in the end an update WILL come out. But to support what you say, you need to be a complete idiot (in fact, this is paying for air). I even became interested in what products you are talking about, name at least 3 (if possible).
It would be a scam if the dev promise a game but sidetracked into making gifs that have nothing to do at all with the game resulting in delay of the game development progress. Showing gifs that will be put in a game is not a scam, that's just a progress report

There are scammy devs with games years in development, never fully released, sidetracking, remaking, promising shit and stuff, with no meaningful updates. I'm not gonna advocate for this one, but you shouldn't put everyone in one basket. This game has been in development since 2023, which is not very long. I wouldn't call it a scam yet.
