Oh man, a good example is Fap Nights at Frenni's Night Club, boy I can sing you a song there.
For a very long while now they have promised or advertised Story Night 3 and all we really have is a trailer!
They also had to remove story mode from the game, leaving only the arcade mode, due to complicating issues etc.
Now their focus is arbitrary with the recent updates only being new skins for the arcade mode and the addition of a slout machine with a heavy card grind mechanic which is in the end utterly pointless unless you like the trading cards and don't mind pulling a lever and watching the spinning until 3 of a kind hit.
Not to mention the amount of recourse they invested in, and I can't stress this enough, anti-cheat measures so no one can cheat money, scenes or even their save files around to the point that last update completely WIPED their save files!
All the grind gone down the drain.
At the very least they made the grind more bearable with a 50k head start on first boot, achievements gaining money an random wallets of your boss in the venue with a 100k reward for finding it.
But the damage is already done...

Honestly, japanese developers usually just release one demo and then develop the whole game without releasing another playable version until the full game comes out, and they usually deliver. Of course there can be cases where the game isn't finished, but normally it isn't about scamming or draining money. You can choose to support the dev throught ci-en or not, that's ur choice, and the dev also has the choice of releasing another playable version, gifs, pics, vids, or whatever they feel necessary. There's no obligation to release a new playable version every month. Also, the pixel art on this game is really really good, I can understand about it being hard and long to develop and create. I don't really mind about not having playable versions, just knowing development is going on is good by me.

Pa3uk Animation takes a very long time; pixel animation takes even more.
In FOBS, Zell takes a month for 1 or 2 scenes plus some stuff on the side.
But those are far smaller in comparison.
These instead are highly detailed pixel crafted animations in my opinion.
They could rush it but it wouldn't even look good anymore.

I think they wanted to point to the fact that the scenes are "in-game footage" and not just that they posted new scenes.
Seeing as the scenes have already been put into a playable debug build for testing and shooting those videos should give us hope that next update we will get a new demo.
Sure we are already anticipating that with every update but this could be potential prove towards that notion.

As i remember in one of posts on Ci-En he said that in september~november might be released a demo with full mechanics like: working on shop in daytime, reputation system? (i don't remember, maybe he thinking about it in older posts? that means that if you help people then no one think that you're a traitor/ninja/[paste word] and i think he change it to mini quests with sex, cuz it's hard to make), more enemies, levels, etc.
P.S: Dont think that if game have 0.7 version that means soon is release (1.0), it might be 0.1.0 or 0.10 or even 0.7.1, even 1.0 might be not full (sadly experience), cuz after demo release it might be 1.0 and then 2.0, 3.0 etc.

Bad take on Fap Nights at Frenni's, because the devs arent delaying the Story mode on purpose. They just want to release other stuff for the game like the Arcade mode and the xxxMas Special, while working on the Story.
If you been a supporter for long enough as i have, you can notice that they not only take their time as needed, they also provide updates to the other modes so you dont get bored of not getting a story mode yet.
Plus, they have been hard at work in making sure the Story mode is as stable and bug free as possible.

Edit: Reading further of what you are saying, you are basically just whining over nothing.

Ok so what I'm understanding from the last few pages of this thread is, there isn't a complete game yet, it's still being worked on, the demo version in the main post is as much gameplay as we can currently play, the "updates" people are talking about are status updates from the dev, and the full game isn't expected till around the end of this year?
