I don't know if it's got anything to do with skipping, but it looks like the transparency (opacity (the alpha value)) on some of the layers is set to 1 and then after half a second it goes to 0 (it becomes transparent) and that's exactly what's happening in game. Idk which layers are which images, so I can't fix it for you, unfortunately (cause idk which layers are supposed to be shown and which aren't during this part).

Also, instead of fading layers in and out, why not just scene it (it'll save you a lot of headache)?
Also, why make images so large, you have to display them at half the size (i get that it's for the fancy animations, but I feel like it's way too unnecessary)
