Kind of like this assessment of MC by every 4th commenter. I think the thread is filled with whiny bedwetters.
Hmm... Well...
Could it possibly be that people really love the game to pieces but have some critique that is actually meant to improve the game?
I mean - There are people that are fine with the game the way it its, but other people simply get frustrated by the fact that the MC start very promising at first, but seems to slow down to an almost immovable object considering character-progression?
I mean the MC is passed left and right by all other characters in the game in if you look at character development. They feel frankly even more mature than the MC himself. It feels like the MC is stuck in a endless circle that repeats itself over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It feels like we have a beautiful game hold back with a lot of filler that's the MC situation.
I think there would be a lot less (or even none) complaints if the MC has some decent progression, in stead of being stuck in that endless loop. As I said before - I (and I think nobody here) wants the MC from one day to another throw overboard all restrictions and jump on all the girls in sight. But it would be nice if there was at least some decent and noticeable character progression.
Don't get me wrong - I respect the choices of the developer and I really like this game, but at the other hand it's frustrating to see so little progress with the MC. I can fully understand that this frustration also hit other people, and they give their reactions here. If you take that in consideration I think it's a signal that they love the game and hate to see it pulled down by that one aspect they see as an unnecessary drawn out situation. If so many people give that reaction, it's a sign that maybe that aspect is not that great in the otherwise great game?
As said before - It's simply my personal opinion, just like other people give their opinion. Wiping away any critique on this front by calling those people whiners or, as you phrase it, bedwetters, do them no justice. Maybe as (very) small amount of "complainers" want a instant change, but I think most of them -me included- just want to see an increase in the pace of character progression the MC has. At least the MC should progress at the same pace as the people around him. Is that too much to ask?
At the end we all want a game that's enjoyable now, even getting more enjoyable. That's not a bad thing, is it?
