As for time after Jess' death I don't recall it being explicitly stated (like how old Abi was when Jess died, the MC is vague on this detail), but we know for sure from 8-18 years old, they were with Shannon.

The MC does state after Jess' death that he needed to find a mother for Abi as she was just a child and there was numerous stuff he wouldn't be able to do for her/help with etc. Without facts hard to say (or re-checking dialogue) but seem to remember something about some time later which makes me think Abi would be 5(ish) and there was a few years before moving in with Shannon. Just a theory anyway as said, little is actually explicitly given on timeframes.

People are complicated and react to emotinal stress in different ways. What we know about Shannon is that she is the type that chooses the easy way out. She was a great girlfriend to the MC, but when she had to move, she cut him out, so too not deal with the hurt a slow split would create. She was a great Step mom to Abby until she remembered her to much of her mom. We know they hated each other for a not disclosed reason. But instead of talking to the MC about her problems and fears she again chooses the easy way out. She estranged herself and cheated on him. Both Shannon and the MC have a hard time to comunicate their feelings and have a loot of bottled up emotions. Combine that with the selfish attitute of Shannon and the passive one from the MC and you find the Situation displayed before you. At the end Shannon always loved her Children and didn`t want them to get hurt. But she didn`t account for their feelings in the Divorce and got hurt because they didn`t choose her side. Her Selfishness again forced her to lash out and deal with the Situation the only way she ever knew.

I don`t say that Shannon is the good guy here, and i`m pretty sure that she regrets the cheating, but she does that in a selfish way because in her mind the MC forced her to act in that way. And yes begging the MC to not tell their Daughters that it was her Ex-husband she cheated with was to protect their Daughters. maybe the only not 100% selfish thing she ever did.

But since that doesn't exist I am here playing Single Again (and others). At this point I get annoyed when sex happens too soon in a game. LOL

I love slow-burners. Not all games have to be about instant gratification, sometimes slower is better. If you're in it for the lewd scenes, you're probably better off playing Midlife Crisis or WVM (both of which are in my personal top 10, see signature) but if you want a change of pace, this game fills that niche for me. As far as slow-burners go, I'd say this might be third or second to Light Of My Life (although it's not really fair to compare any game to LOML, in terms of writing and emotional impact, it's the Holy Grail of VNs, at least to me).

I'm invested in the story, I care about the characters and I am looking forward to see how this story will progress. At this point, I'd be kinda miffed if it progressed too fast!

Very few lewd scenes and far between in this one. The writing gets better the deeper you go. I wouldn't compare it to Light of My Life (as that is the best of the genre) but it is a solid story with a MC that actually gives a damn about the women in his life. There are parts I find annoying (anything dream related) but I am not a fan of telling stories via dream sequences. Just know that you shouldn't act like a perv in this game, unlike the normal games on here, so control yourself. LOL

I haven seen any action between them, but the talk is really putting me off the game so far. I'm at the point where Abby and the MC go to meet Lily at work to meet her boyfriend. I'm just hoping nothing comes of it.

Becca stated that she was always pretty self centered and didn`t take the feelings of others into account, she even statet that she won`t take responsibility for her actions which is all true and shows in her actions. But you can regret something and still blame someone else for the fallout. Yes, she cheated and she isn`t that happy about it but she doesn`t feel responsible because she blames the MC for her actions. She feels hurt and wants to get back at the MC. Thats her internal justification, doesn`t make it right it just explains it.

For the Joke part, i made a wordplay on getting and being a "pussy". that was the edgy part. The MC is passive, indecisive and still lies to himself about his motivations and feelings. So much that he literaly created a subconscous avatar to deal with his desires and his suffering. So yes that makes him a "pussy" in my book.

The part that he is caring and loving to his (step)daughters, doesnt count as a negative attribute and was never critisised by me.
